By chrysostom15
The vote total for the Senate race announced at the Republican Convention in Richmond, Va., showed Gilmore got 5,222 votes compared to 5,156 for state Del. Robert G. Marshall, The Washington Post said.
That is an impressive showing for Marshall, and also an impressing showing for conservatives.

By chrysostom15
Rep. Tom Tancredo, a strong supporter of boarder security, has endorced Bob Marshall for the GOP nominee for the US Senate in Virginia. See http://blog.washingtonpost.com/virginiapolitics/2008/05/rep_tom_tancredo...
Bob Marshall, a pro-life, anti-tax, pro-gun, conservative is running aginst the pro-choice, big-government, pro-amnesty Jim Gilmore for the GOP nominate for the Senate. Current polls show the Democrat, Warner, running with a double-digit lead against Gilmore. No polls have been conducted for a race between Marshall and Warner.

Posted at 10:19am on May 15, 2008 Why a McCain loss is disaster for the Conservative Cause
By chrysostom15
If Obama wins, Obama will also win re-election in 2012. The Senate will move further left and the GOP will lose, in 2010 the ability to filibuster. By 2012, the GOP will have lost a large number of state races also.
Why? Obama turns out the Democratic base, which will help down-ballot candidates. The newly elected Democrats are far more moderate than Obama, but when the GOP attacks them as linked to Obama, the liberals will come out and vote for them in large number.

By chrysostom15
Let's face it, Justice Stevens is 88. Justice Ginsburg is 75. McCain has made it clear he will appoint judges like Roberts, Alito, Scalia, and Thomas. When asked what he thought of O'Conner, he said he would appoint judgest like Roberts, Alito, Scalia, and Thomas.
Here is a list of McCain's Justice Advisory Committee:
Chairs Of The Justice Advisory Committee:
• Theodore B. Olson -- former Solicitor General of the United States

Posted at 4:48pm on May 13, 2008 Fact - Every True Conservative Supports McCain in 2008
By chrysostom15
It is not conservative for a person to lose the ability to regulate his emotions and keep calm. It is not conservative to vote for the worse of two candidates simply because one is not perfect.
The significant differences that conservatives have with McCain, and they are significant, pale in comparison to the differences conservatives have with Obama. When putting the two against eachother, no true conservative would hesitate to say that McCain is a much better choice.

Posted at 1:36pm on May 9, 2008 How Obama will cut taxes, control the boarders, win the war, and defend life...
By chrysostom15
Some people are claiming to support conservative values and suggesting the Obama is a conservative. Please, let me see these people in real life, I have some prime location property on the moon that I'd like to sell them.
Obama has detailed in this campaign how he will end the Bush tax cuts. Since he will have a Democratically controlled House and Senate, he should be able to do this easily. Obama will also be able to increase social security taxes on the wealthy, as he promised. Obama will also, as he promised on the campaign trail, increase taxes whenever he has new programs he wants to spend money on.... like the healthcare plan. Unless you believe that Obama has been lying all along, he will raise your taxes -- considerably.

By chrysostom15
On Taxes:
McCain wants to keep them the same.
Obama wants to increase them dramatically
On Judges:
McCain voted for Roberts, Alito, Bork, etc. McCain will appoint judges like JRB
Obama opposed Roberts, Alito, etc. Obama will appoint judges like Bill Ayers, Mr. Wright, and Tony Renzio
On Healthcare
McCain wants private sector healthcare
Obama wants to take your money and give it to other people for government run healthcare

Posted at 1:44pm on Apr. 1, 2008 Bob Marshall is the only candidate who can beat Warner
By chrysostom15
In a state where John McCain is ahead by 11 points over Obama and 22 points over Clinton, pro-choice, pro-big-government, Jim Gilmore is trailing Warner by 16 points for the Virginia Senate. I believe pro-life, anti-tax Bob Marshall would do better.
When he was governor, Jim Gilmore doubled spending over 4 years. Bob Marshall meanwhile is opposed to high taxes, and even took an illegal tax increase to court, and won. Bob Marshall has put forward bills to allow professors to carry handguns in colleges, to reduce abortions, and led the charge for Virginia's successfull ban on same-gender civil unions. Bob Marshall, a consistant conservative can win in this conservative state.

Posted at 5:22pm on Mar. 23, 2008 It is time for Sen. Obama to end his campaign
By chrysostom15
Senator Obama should bow out the presidential race for the good of the country. It has become increasingly clear that Senator Obama is not just a divisive political figure, but that his candidacy is greatly harming race relations in this country.
For decades the country has become increasingly inclusive. So much so that Senator Obama was about to win the Democratic nomination for president. The nation was ready for a black president.

Posted at 2:07pm on Mar. 21, 2008 McCain's Fundriasing Problem
By chrysostom15
Senator McCain has raised about the same for this whole campaign season as Obama and Clinton raised last month. In fact, McCain is barely staying afloat financially, with under 10 million in the bank, while Obama and Clinton each have over 30 million in-the-bank -- and this while Obama and Clinton are spending over $ 1 million a day, each, on their campaigns. McCain is spending less than 1/6 of their compined spending.

Posted at 1:34pm on Mar. 14, 2008 How Liberal Policies Caused the Financial Problems and How Conservative Policies Can Solve Them
By chrysostom15
Why it is that banks and many Americans are facing a liquidity crisis? Why is it that housing prices in some markets are falling? Why is it that many people are losing their homes?
The answer is actually very simple:
1- The federal government had artificially lowered interest rates which encouraged people to borrow money and discouraged people from saving money.
2- The federal government has, itself, borrowed hundreds of billions of dollars, crowding out money from the private sector

Posted at 11:48am on Mar. 12, 2008 Why Bob Marshall is the best Nominee for the Virginia Senate
By chrysostom15
The GOP in Virginia will soon Caucus to nominate either Bob Marshall or Jim Gilmore for the Senate to take on former governor Mark Warner.
Bob Marshall is the Virginia Delegate who has lead the fight in Viriginia for a number of years for conservative issues. He, not only fought against liberal plans to raise taxes in Virginia, but actually took the plans to court and won. He filed and won a lawsuit saving Virginia taxpayers billions of dollars which were about to be illegally imposed.

Posted at 1:26pm on Mar. 5, 2008 About John McCain
By chrysostom15
1. He is more pro-life than Reagan. He is not perfect, but he has been strong on judges. He voted for Bork. He replaced a pro-choice GOP senator, and has been consistantly more on the pro-life than the pro-choice side. He supported Reagan over Ford in that primary. While he far more pro-life than anyone else running with a chance to win.
2. He is more pro-boarder-security than Bush. McCain is also more pro-boarder-security than anyone else with a chance to win the nomination. He supports first securing the boarders, and then opening up a guest worker program. The Democratic nominee will support doing both at the same time.

Posted at 3:44pm on Feb. 24, 2008 The Islamic Terrorists Invade Serbia
By chrysostom15
The Islamic Terrorists in the historic heartland of Serbia, the city of Kosovo, have decided they want their own country. Ignoring the declaration of the U.N., ignoring the territorial soverenty of the free nation of Serbia, and ignoring international law, they have announced themselves a country.
Of course this illegal act would creat a new haven for Islamic Facist terrorists, and would give even more support for the creation of a State of Palistine that includes part or all of Jeruselem, as well as support for the Kurds to break off in Iraq and Turkey and support for the Basquests (sp?) to break off in Spain.

Posted at 3:55pm on Feb. 23, 2008 Gen. Peter Pace for VP ?
By chrysostom15
The first Join Chief of Staff from the Marines would be an excellent choice for VP. The National Review publishes an article requesting Pace to run to fill the Senate vacancy left open by John Warner's retirement. The Wall Street Journel ran a story about Republicans in VA pushing Pace to run for the seat.
General Pace would be a VP choice ready to assume the duties of Commander and Chief from Day One. He is also one of the few nominee who would excite social conservatives to a near frenzy, as stood up to defend don't ask don't tell (as opposed to allowing gays to serve openly in the military) at the cost of his job. Pace is viewed as a nonpoliticain and a man of integrity by Republicans and Democrats alike.
