Tell Your Friends about Jim Johnson

In explaining the Johnson scandal to someone this morning, I thought about how nice it would be to have some kind of visual aid. So I made this little graphic which I referred to as a "scandal map." Thought you might find it useful for emails.

Also, don't forget Erick Erickson's video summary:

not Johnson. He CANNOT absolve himself from the original sin without becoming a conservative. But, as usual, Republicans will let Dems off by playing the old Washington game and "absolve" his-politician self by completing a false smear by firing a good man that did nothing wrong.

Obama was wrong to suggest corruption by Countrywide and people similarly situated like Johnson.

That was the sin. Not hiring Johnson. Let's aim our fire at Obama.

I can't count the number of times the GOP blows these kinds of events.

I think it is about two things. It is also about the two faces Obama is putting out there, attacking the splinter in Hillary's eye and ignoring the beam in his own. You tell wishy washy voters about why he should leave countrywide alone in the first place you might get a few head nods. The fact that he pasted Hillary for a more minor version of his own exact situation, that gets traction.

He's being a hypocrite. That's exactly counter to his saint image. I think that matters.

his assault on capitalism that he will get a pass for if we FOCUS on hypocrisy. Everyone is guilty of hypocrisy in DC, and even if they aren't, we don't win based on this sin. Dems do.

We need to focus on Obama's argument against Countrywide and its leadership. That is the leftist danger to America.

It's about both things. We can focus on both. But I maintain that the angle here is a better vote-getter than trying to argue for Countrywide's innocence. The point of the graphic is for the wishy washies, not the wonks.

of capitalist politics. Its the fault of Big Oil, Big Pharma and Big Mortgage. All those folks were duoed by crooks at C-wide. Its buying into the class envy LIBERAL PREMISES and playing on the libs ground.

Reagan changed things for us. His politics was not classic. It was the change.

we disagree

If you suggest that my take somehow buys into his liberal premises, as it clearly does not.

What is untrue about what I am saying? He is being two-faced. He's the Obamassiah. Seems clear cut.

Nothing I say takes away from your discussion about whether he ought to be arguing with countrywide in the first place. Not even a little.

bite TV culture, I do think, as I have expressed before on other similar matters, that we conservatives too often miss the most powerful points to be made by following the more simplistic and easy MSM line. And hypocrisy is at the top of that list.

Obama should be attacked for his attack on "those actors and practices that CAUSED" the crisis.

Their is ZERO evidence Johnson did anything wrong nor that any appreciable number of foreclosures were due to bad actors in the mtg industry, and to accept that premise id to play into the dem's argument that capitalism is a zero-sum rigged game.

Yes, we have a time and subject matter closed window to make our case, and too often we get trapped by the hypocrisy argument.

Dems are never guilty of it since they have no principles. We are a substance party, or were.

Americans kept THE HYPOCRITE in office for two terms, ie Bill Clinton.

I have seen this movie before. All of the last 4 years as we lose opportunities to make real points that distinguish us from them.

Hypocrisy ain't the ticket.

In my opinion.

My technical factual objection is to focus on Johnson. He did nothing wrong as far as we know.

This has been a gripe of mine my WHOLE life, about the media. I seek to elevate, and when I look back at Reagan I see that he did. Rush has in the media.

McCain will lose if he plays this classic game.

Well, he mat not actually because Obama is just tooooo farrrrr leftttt

but still!

at the same time about one thing, we have much bigger problems than I've thought. Voters differ.

always has a comeback from the libs and its all a blur.

Now, if we would say, no Barack you were wrong in your initial criticism of Johnson and C-Wide, then we have the argument won.

Then, if he keeps Johnson with our blessing he looks the fool. And we can point to his hypocrisy AND the better and more RELEVANT to Americans' lives argument:

availability of credit.

the issue, the "issue" goes away with Obama's scuttilus attack on the Mortgage industry in particular, (Bush's and the GOP's record home ownership still unheralded) and American free market capitalism in general unchallenged.

Whoopee. Wonder how many votes we got from this one. ZILCH

That's why I wrote part #2341 of my problem with the the Stupid party
