As of 11:30PM Drudge is reporting that the NY Times is going to run another silly story attacking McCain. This time, you guessed it, because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone.

According to Drudge:

"NYT: MCCAIN'S BIRTHPLACE IN CANAL ZONE RAISES ELIGIBILITY QUESTIONS..."

Of course it only raises questions among those who don't have access to Google (NY Times has been making cut backs). The rest of us know that a natural born citizen has been defined for two hundred years as:

As the 2008 election evolves into a contest between Governor Romney and Senator McCain, the candidates and their partisans have become increasingly hostile and personal in their attacks on one another (yours truly included). Both sides have legitimate grievances and both sides are guilty of various transgressions (look to any number of blogs to find evidence of this).

However, in the interest of not letting the perfect be the enemy of the good, I'd like to suggest that we all take a deep breath and remember who we should be fighting. Ultimately, both Mitt Romney and John McCain are good men and would make far better presidents than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.
