Rudy Giuliani has refused to be considered "effectively pro-life" [source]. Strike one!
Rudy Guiliani is fine with nominating "strict constructionist [sic] judges" who protect Roe [source]. Strike two!
And now, NARAL is saying that it would help the pro-abortion movement if a pro-abortion Republican won [source]. Strike three!
In a phone interview with the Huffington Post, NARAL's political director Elizabeth Shipp acknowledged it "would help" the pro-choice movement if a Republican proved it was possible to win the presidency while still supporting abortion rights.
NARAL even said that it could potentially support Rudy Giuliani:
NARAL has yet to announce an endorsement in the 2008 race. But Shipp acknowledged that Giuliani is the lone Republican in the field who could potentially win the organization's support.
Rudy, you're out!
In a lot of Giuliani Derangement Syndrome outbreaks here, we see 1-day members warning us that nominating Giuliani is guaranteed defeat in the general election because social conservatives will stay home. Some times it's hard to tell the mobies' rhetoric apart from the genuine GDS sufferers.
The fact that so many Clinton supporters are trying to prevent Giuliani's nomination is a good sign.
Rudy's doing the right thing by reminding us that Hillary is the likely Democrat behemoth he'll ultimately have to beat. As long as he sticks to facts, he'll have a chance to win with his trademark directness.

They know how Republicans will react to this. I'd be surprised if they weren't just saying this to hurt his chances at the nomination so they can get their dream candidate, Hillary.
