By bluegrassredstate
Representative Tom Burch, fresh out of Kentucky's 2008 session of General Assembly, didn't hold back his frustration with U.S. Rep John Yarmuth (KY-3), a superdelegate who has already stated his support for Barack Obama.
At the Hillary Clinton campaign headquarters opening in Louisville today, Rep. Burch questioned why Yarmuth would support Obama over Clinton, who would be considered much more palatable to many Democrats in Kentucky's 3rd District.

Iraq will never be good enough for American Democrats. That is the lesson that the world should be learning right now. When the New York Times is printing stories that contain actual truths such as this one:
A member of Iraq’s Presidency Council, whose objections had blocked a law calling for provincial elections by October, withdrew his objections on Wednesday in a sudden turnaround that raised hopes for long-sought political progress.

Posted at 6:04pm on Mar. 19, 2008 Another Black Pastor's Fiery Sermon - S.M. Lockridge
By bluegrassredstate
With all the talk of Barack Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright, and now the pro-Clinton black Harlem pastor James David Manning, I am reminded of this sermon delivered by a black pastor at a predominantly black church.
He's the only one able to supply all of our needs simultaneously . . . He's the Leader of the legislators. He's the Overseer of the overcomers. He's the Governor of Governors. He's the Prince of Princes. He's the King of Kings . . . We around here talking about black power, and white power, and green power! But it's God's power!

By bluegrassredstate
This just seems like one of those things that would be talked about on The Oprah Winfrey Show. A Sumter, SC doctor convincing people to vote for Barack Obama while performing checkups.
Dr. Brenda Williams told the me after the event that : "Earlier today, I had a speculum up a young woman's vagina and she said to me, 'Dr. Williams, why do you support Obama?'"

By bluegrassredstate
In an op-ed printed in Human Events today, Senator Mitch McConnell
laid the groundwork for the work to be done in the Senate this year.
He commented briefly on last year's events, the Democrats' inability to do what they wanted to do last year, and how they tried to exlude Republicans from the legislative process. Then he said:

By bluegrassredstate
I realized moments ago while reading the text of this episode of Common Sense with Paul Jacob that we really should stop calling crab rangoon as such, because as Mr. Jacob points out:
So, how does Burma shave away knowledge? By increasing taxes on satellite dishes!
Most Burmese get their news from satellite TV. Since the Burmese government does not allow a free press within the country, access to the free press outside the country vexes the current junta. So the rulers decided to rocket the cost of satellite dishes upwards, beyond reach of most citizens.

Posted at 12:28am on Jan. 16, 2008 Rudy Giuliani Is Not Pro-Choice
By bluegrassredstate
Rudy Giuliani is not pro-choice, not as traditional Republican voters think of "pro-choice" anyway. You can call him pro-choice if you want, but at your own peril.
The problem with calling him pro-choice in the traditional sense is that he is not pro-abortion like most "pro-choice" abortion supporters. The vast majority of the "pro-choice" crowd is actually just pro-abortion, because they reflexively oppose any and every attempt to make the various abortion laws more just and conform more to common sense.

Posted at 9:02pm on Jan. 11, 2008 Executive Order Would Be No Magic Bullet To Earmarks
By bluegrassredstate
Many conservatives are claiming that an Executive Order from President Bush could bring an end to the congressional earmarking which has caused so much trouble lately. While it may ultimately be a good idea, President Bush needs to carefully consider all the potential ramifications of such an action. While many on the right are feverishly exploring all of the potential good such an order could do, there seem to be very few exploring the negative potential.

Posted at 1:58am on Jan. 6, 2008 Cook Report: McConnell Nonsensical Target For Dems
By bluegrassredstate
The Senior Editor & Political Analyst of the Cook Political Report, Jennifer Duffy, seems to think that targeting the Bluegrass State for electoral votes might make sense, but that targeting Senator Mitch McConnell does not.
Duffy:
“[Democrats] have been working for months to put Kentucky in play. Now, Kentucky as a state -- that makes sense to me. McConnell as their target makes a lot less sense to me. He's got $10 million in the bank. He is as good a strategist as I have ever met -- I used to joke if i ever ran for office I would want him to be my campaign manager. He's just going to be really hard to beat, and pretty much everybody Democrats have approached to run against him has taken a good, hard look and walked away…”
