Florida republicans, like voters in South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Iowa before them have decided that Hillary Clinton should be the next President of the United States.
I know many will say that's a bit extreme but it's reality, by supporting weak RINO's like McCain and Huckabee voters have decided that a repeat of 1996 is in order. McCain can't win in the general election, he is the one candidate that will cause conservatives to stay home, or vote libertarian, etc. Conservatives can't stand by and give McCain a pass on his litany of offenses, immigration, being against tax cuts, gang of 14, just to name a few, and those that do give McCain a pass are not conservative anyway regardless of what they tell you.

Now you wouldn't know it from the spin associated with the latest poling data released today by Rasmussen but if you actually look at the data there is a lot of good news in this for Fred Thompson.

So it appears that people have amnesia. Seven months ago John McCain was the laughing stock of the free world because he was running for President and joined forces with the King of Liberalism, Ted Kennedy, to write a immigration bill that 85% of the people thought was a horrible idea.

FoxNews seems to be picking up the torch for McCain. Hammering Romney but overlooking the flaws in McCain. FNC hyped comments made by McCain's campaign surrogates that Romney is:

I find it hilarious that Huckabee isn't comfortable with his positions and can't take it when it is correctly pointed out he is a liberal. Mr. Clinton-Edwards Huckabee slams Thompson, the only conservative running for President, as not having been on board with Reagan, and not having done anything in the Senate.

Posted at 12:32pm on Jan. 8, 2008 Why New Hampshire may matter after all
By BrandonF

For the last several months I (along with many others) have believed that Iowa and New Hampshire may not be as important this time around because they have small delegate totals and so many larger states are stacked up immediately after them. This has created a problem for Republicans, many have the mentality that we have to elect a weak moderate like Rudy, Huckabee, Romney, or McCain, in order to beat Hillary.

With one week to go before Iowa many bloggers, this one included, have chosen today for a blog burst for Fred Thompson. I include the list at the bottom, please check out these blogs. There is a lot of good people and a lot of good writing by these folks. The main point of this blog burst is to help raise money and awareness for Fred Thompson. Fred is the only conservative running for President. Fred has been consistent to conservative principles his entire life. Several other candidates in the field have tried to claim they are conservative, but when you review their proposals today, when you look at what they said their entire life in public office you see that they will say anything to get elected.

By BrandonF

The next topic I wish to address in explaining my reasoning for supporting Fred Thompson is taxes and tax reform. Some candidates, Huckabee most recently, have supported the fairtax proposal. Please go to their website and spend some time, read it thoroughly. When you have most of you will come to the same conclusion I have which is that this is just another expansion of government that will become the single biggest entitlement program we have. It puts everyone on the government entitlement program so that the ever efficient government will dole out checks to everyone each month.

As we get close to Iowa several people have begun asking for details about Fred Thompson and where he stands on issues so over the next week I will detail the case for Fred Thompson. I will pull this information from Fred's website, interviews, etc. Fred is really the only candidate who has detailed where he stands on the issues. The others tend to talk in Clintonspeak about what they believe, or what they say now is different than their record.

By BrandonF

Huckabee hires Ed Rollins, probably the biggest idiot in Republican politics, and Rollins immediately goes out and bashes 70% of the republican party by criticizing Rush Limbaugh. Rollins should back out and write about how to win friends and influence people perhaps. Anyway Huckabee try's to put the horse (or horses' ass) back in the barn by extending an olive branch to Rush.

The year was 1992, I was twenty years old and voting in my first Presidential election. I was a part time listener to Rush and generally conservative. George HW Bush had backed down from his "no new taxes" pledge and I was not as educated about politics as I am today. I saw Bill Clinton for what he is, a liberal socialist that is the embodiment of the term "slick marketing". However as a young skull full of mush I must admit that I was impressed with the shiny graphs and charts of Ross Perot. And with that I made a mistake that I hold against myself to this day.

David Yepsen, Political Columnist for the Des Moines Register, points out that Fred Thompson did himself the most good in Wednesday's debate. This was clearly the case, while Romney and Huckabee didn't do anything to really screw up, they didn't exactly do anything other than talk in circles like they normally do.

The National Review has endorsed Mitt Romney, top liberal on the republican ticket. This boggles the imagination, how can one of the mainstays of conservatism support a man for President who, by his positions and actions in the past, is only slightly right of Hillary Clinton? I am not certain what is in the water over there at National Review but reading this garbage makes me want to support a clean water act or something.

For several elections now the media has been making a big deal out of the vote of the religious right. While believing in religion is important and we shouldn't minimize it, why are candidates running around acting as though they are going to be burned at the stake because they believe in a certain religion?
