By bricklavin
So after turning into a grumpy Rombot over the past couple of weeks, I decided do to my wife a favor and get some things off my chest about my man Mitt's campaign. Please note, I maintain that Romney is the best man for the job and the only remaining viable candidate (barring a Fred coup in SC) that is truly willing AND able to keep the three-winged conservative coalition together. That said, here is my take on why his campaign is stumbling and what he should do about it.

Posted at 2:18pm on Dec. 17, 2007 Parsing Steve King's Endorsement: Reason for Romney Surprise
By bricklavin
When I read about the erroneous MSNBC report this morning on the Steve King endorsement, I wondered how it could possibly have gotten the story wrong by reporting the endorsement for Romney rather than for Thompson. The corrected story led me to believe that a sizeable presence of Romney staffers at the event led MSNBC reporters to conclude prematurely that the endorsement was for Romney. The story indicates that Romney staffers were bewildered and surprised when Thompson's name was announced, almost as if they had smugly assumed they had it in the bag when they didn't.

Posted at 9:32am on Jul. 19, 2007 Breaking News: Fred? Caught in Lie about Abortion Lobbying
By bricklavin
In a surprisingly fair piece given the whopper of a denial Fred? and his campaign gave to the previous LA Times piece, the NY Times reports that it has obtained the billing records of Fraud's, er Fred?s lobbying efforts on behalf of pro-abortion activist group National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association.
In addition to the board minutes produced by NFPRHA indicating the group's hiring of Fred?, (now available in pdf format at the LATimes link ==> http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-thompson7jul07,0,54260.story?...), we now learn that he billed at least 20 hours to the group for his efforts and spoke to the president of the organization at least 22 times regarding the abortion lobbying matter.

By bricklavin
Now that Fred Thompson's declaration is imminent, time for some apples to apples comparisons, beginning with foreign policy. Topic: Iran.
FRED ON IRAN (London, England, June 19, 2007 - weeks before declaring his candidacy for President)(worth watching to the end):
NOTE: Mitt after the jump . . .
