Posted at 3:22pm on Mar. 9, 2008 Brace yourselves Obamans, the Democratic nomination is about to be stolen.
By buzzbrockway
Several things are becoming clear:
1) Democrats will seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida.
2) Delegates from those States will count in the race for the nomination.
3) Adding these delegates will be done in a fashion that is "fair" but will greatly benefit Mrs. Clinton.
4) Barack Obama will not be the Democratic nominee for President.
Fox News Sunday had a discussion with Michigan Super Delegate Debbie Dingell (wife of Clinton supporter Congressman John Dingell) and Clinton supporting Florida Super Delegate Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. Both women thought the primaries in their respective States were just fine, even though Obama was not on the ballot in Michigan and neither Obama nor Clinton campaigned in Florida. However, both women were concerned with fairness, which in this context means: How can we screw Obama without him getting upset about it?

Posted at 6:43pm on Feb. 12, 2008 Bloggers Conference Call with Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson
By buzzbrockway
Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson held a conference call this afternoon with several bloggers. Since it's been said that I too am a blogger, the Isakson folks were kind enough to invite me to listen in.
The main topic of the call was to discuss the Biennial Budgeting and Appropriations Act which has become near and dear to the Senator's heart. In fact Isakson will be speaking to the Heritage Foundation about the proposal on Thursday.

Posted at 11:41pm on Feb. 6, 2008 Talking Super Tuesday with Danny Diaz
By buzzbrockway
This morning I spoke with Danny Diaz, Communications Director for the RNC about Super Tuesday and where things go from here.
As the dust clears after Super Tuesday, Diaz maintains the GOP is in an excellent position to compete with either of the Democratic candidates. Barak Obama is the most liberal Senator (even to the left of Vermont Socialist Bernie Sanders), and even Democrats just don't trust Hillary Clinton.

Posted at 4:45pm on Jan. 3, 2008 Is The GOP Headed for a Brokered Convention?
By buzzbrockway
As you all know today Republicans and Democrats in Iowa will caucus and throw their support behind the candidate of their choice. The nomination season is finally upon us.
I've been thinking and talking with people about who might win the two Party's nomination. The Democratic race has always been a three person race and I think in the end my friends on the other side will nominate Barack Obama.

Posted at 3:05pm on Jul. 31, 2007 Presidential candidates supporting the Fair Tax.
By buzzbrockway
I don't often listen to Neal Boortz but I tuned in today briefly to hear him quote this ABC News report that soon-to-be-Presidential candidate Fred Thompson became the sixth GOP candidate to pledge to sign the Fair Tax into law should the Congress pass it. Thompson has backed away from such a pledge today despite this video showing him saying he would sign the bill.

Posted at 12:58pm on Jul. 5, 2007 Georgia Speaker of the House doesn't like "Those dadgum blog sites."
By buzzbrockway
I posted this at Peach Pundit but perhaps Red State readers might like to read it as well.
Per Dick Pettys via Cracker Squire:
“Those dadgum blog sites. You know what I predict is going to happen? I predict somebody’s going to sue one of those site domains for slander, and somebody’s going to get hit with a big suit because there’s no accountability, and they say and do things about people that are blatantly false.

Posted at 1:26am on Jul. 2, 2007 Poor oppressed Jihadists?
By buzzbrockway
Promoted by Jeff. As has been demonstrated time and time again - most recently in this case - the economic excuse for terrorism is a patently false one, and is primarily the refuge of those who are too afraid or too out of touch to accept that there really are people who simply kill for a living (outside of the US military ;-)
Mohammed Atta and many of the 9/11 hijackers were neither poor nor oppressed, yet poverty is often listed as a root cause of terrorism. As it turns out, two of the terrorists arrested for involvement in the failed London car bombings and the Glasgow attack were doctors.

Posted at 6:39pm on Jun. 24, 2007 Free advice for the supporters of amnesty.
By buzzbrockway
As I watched today's 'Georgia Gang' their discussion of the proposed immigration bill cemented in my mind that a resolution of this problem is nowhere in sight. I lay the blame for this mostly at the feet of the "legalize them all now" crowd. The strange thing to me is that the "legalize them all now" crowd could have almost everything they want in short order if they would only agree to pass a bill containing only border security measures.

By buzzbrockway
A friend of mine sent this to me. It's from his brother Major Michael Rountree, M.D. who is currently stationed in Ramadi, Iraq. Oh by the way, Major Rountree voted for Al Gore in 2000.
“Back from seeing patients- thought you might be interested in my war
thoughts-This war IS winnable irrelevant of what the ridiculous media say. I have not met one person here who thought otherwise, though I’ve met a lot disgruntled people because it is all on us in the Army. This war is more like fighting crime in New York- you don’t wake up one day and say "hey- its over!'. You gradually reduce the numbers to a livable level. We are fighting criminals here, not soldiers.

By buzzbrockway
Speaker of State Nancy Pelosi won't attend General Petraeus' Congressional briefing tomorrow according to ABC News. She did speak with him by phone though, and what a fun time that must have been. I wonder how many times she dozed off during the conversation.
Senate Majority Leader and noted real estate mogul Harry Reid will attend the briefing. The purpose of his attendance is not clear, as Reid last Thursday (April 19) declared the War lost. Oddly, Reid continues to issue press releases with comments like this:

By buzzbrockway
This past weekend, the Georgia GOP held their district conventions. Two of these districts held Presidential Straw Polls.
Mansell McCord, the GOP's 5th District Chairman, emailed me the results of their GOP Presidential Straw Poll. They asked for people to pick a first and second choice. The complete results can be seen here, but a quick summary says:
