I see a amazing opportunity coming in two years. Possibly a great conservative revolution, as amazing or more as the '94 wave that changed the foundations of American politics for a generation. How can this happen? What are the ingredients necessary? I claim we are very close to embarking on this path, hopefully many see the same thing, and can make it a reality.

Why is this an important discussion right now, with the current political turmoil, and changing campaign textures? If we do not grasp the simple principals that will precipitate this future success, we may miss the opportunity, to be mired in mediocrity for another decade or more. See if you concur with this assessment, and can embrace the fundamental strategy.

Posted at 5:11pm on Feb. 6, 2008 The New Base: Pseudocons

By Carlos

There was a phenomena beginning in the seventies of democrats who had fiscal conservative (or perhaps libertarian) views voting for Republican candidates. Many were Democrats simply by culture and blood, not by brain power. Their parents held FDR in such high regard that party became part of life, not cognition. This was instilled from the womb, a immutable part of the family, "We're all Democrats..." But things changed, and by Reagan's second term, "Reagan Democrats" were a very large voting block. Reagan reached across the political divide and spread conservative views. His compromises forced liberals to sacrifice socialist ideals.

A movement gained success...

By Carlos

In pondering and rambling in a discussion with a uber nutter lib, I had the brilliant notion of calling all the Media Matters, Public Integrity, and whatever other Soros Socialist funded propaganda parrots Sorobots. Its got a ring to it, a snappiness that sticks with you. I blogged a piece about the Sorobot phenomena and it stuck with me. The Sorobot Cult is growing and coalescing, we must expose and cut off the head of the beast! I had a vision of flag waving hordes marching towards the Pentagon and WalMarts everywhere! Anyhow, humor aside, see if it rings true after you say it three times, Sorobot, Sorobot, Sorobot.

Posted at 7:53pm on May 4, 2007 Republican Debate Revelation

By Carlos

There is much to say concerning the debate, but one point seems to rise above the clutter of commentary. That concerns the vast divide between socialist liberals and conservatives in the area of perception. And one debate question sums up that divide: "What do you dislike most about America?" That is it, the core difference between parties, the over arching difference in world view. Liberals dislike many things, and the pinnacle of dislike is hate. It is natural for them to come up with that question. They have many a collective contingent who can answer that question immediately. In fact, we can guess that a large percentage of liberals would answer, "Bush! I hate Bush!" But if not, it would be some other concern in the mold of racism, class envy, abortion, or any other sub-complaint of the socialist liberals. They exist politically at times solely for the things they dislike, and ultimately hate. Hate is a familiar state for those have a strong emotional lead in their personality, and this seems to be common description for a majority of the modern leftists.

By Carlos

I was following the story on Patterico's expose of the apparently schizophrenic Michael Hiltzik/Mikekoshi/nofanofcablecos when, mush to the amusement of all, said commentator(s) responds with this tail between the legs defense.  This is remarkably funny, and the comments will keep your entertained for a long time.  On a serious note, what does everyone think of blog anonymity?  I remain fairly anonymous for professional reasons, though I don't cling to it with mortal fear.  But I would never think of the behavior as displayed.  Disgusting, and extremely humorous.

With the stunning victory of Hamas in the Palestinian elections, many have begun a renewed search of their foreign policy views for justification in supporting a Palestinian state.  I can safely say that my opinion has not changed.  What was the goal of Fatah?  Peaceful coexistence with Israel?  Not by their actions.  Is anyone surprised that the Palestinians would easily support a terrorist organization?  But what is interesting to me in this event are the catcalls from liberals "see, democracy isn't for everyone..."  This is a completely fallacious argument, but raises a fascinating topic of exploration.  There are two avenues to this that I hope coincide in my conclusion.

Posted at 10:07pm on Jan. 13, 2006 Capital Punishment Causes Media Wandering?

By Carlos

Streiff has provided us with a well authored piece today outlining the case of Roger Coleman, whose guilt is assured after the results of a modern DNA test were released.  In the thread of that story, some comments revolved around the lack of MSM response to such fundamentally juicy news.  It is a long running case with many human interest angles, yet our modern journalist appear to be on the side the opponents of capital punishment to the exclusion of populist news.  That is all and well, until I zip over to FOX and read a piece entitled "Death Penalty Concerns Don't Translate on Political Stage" written by Jane Roh.  I pondered, "Here is a interesting bit of news, especially in the light of Streiff's thoughtful piece, I wonder what it says?"  Imagine my surprise to find no reference to the hottest bit of news since Tookie said goodnight.  Please go read it and tell me why?  I am not advocating for or against, you can make up your own mind morally, but does the language of this piece, and the omission of Coleman's guilt smack of socialist propagandizing?  It is an open question, and I didn't want to threadjack the more fundamental topic of innocence, or advocacy, so consider the thread here open to media bias on the topic.

Posted at 12:03am on Dec. 24, 2005 The Intelligent Dinosaur

By Carlos

I think to myself, Carlos, why would you want to heat up the apparently destructive debate on ID (Intelligent Design)?  What can be gained by dividing the ranks of the conservative masses?  And why would I want to cower under a pile of hot coals?  But, alas, sensibility is not my strongest point, and I personally think dogmatic alignment with ones religious teachings are dangerous, no matter how 'right' you personal religion is.  God gave you a mind and a soul.  You are to use your mind to evaluate and be critical.  Then exercises your will and decide.  And for those who the fire has alighted, there is a additional promoting in your conscience on the decisions you make.  Most likely your faith will be strengthened in the process.

For those who are now asking "Is Carlos going to get preachy?"  I can assure you, I will focus the dialectic towards the conservative hermeneutic.  (At the same time using obscure words with religious connotations, dope.) In other words, if you care not for the condition of your soul, but yearn for the days of Reagan, you will still find something here.  And I will refrain from overt proselytizing, its my solemn promise and vow.  Is that all the boilerplate cleared up?  Apart from stating that no actual dinosaurs were made extinct in the creation of this exposition.

Posted at 6:12pm on Dec. 7, 2005 The Democrats Generational Optimism

By Carlos

For five years we have endured the constant barrage of doom and gloom predictions from Democrats.  They constantly spout forth dire views and optimism destroying opinions.  Some of the most shrill, baseless statements became the mantra of the 2004 Kerry campaign for president.  But lets reflect upon a previous presidential election year.  Lets examine how the Democrats have changed over the years.

Posted at 1:06am on Dec. 6, 2005 Thinking of Pork this Christmas

By Carlos

Well, Peter saw the smorgasbord of unclean animals God commanded him to eat, and choked up.  But he got the point, it was a new day, a new dispensation, and the requirement of the law was broken.  Off he went to bring the good news to the unclean, and eat whatever he was offered, presumably pork was on the menu.  However, some to this day believe pork is unclean.  The pork I'm thinking of sure is.  Instead of chewing the cud, the porcine program is too root around in its own fecal matter, which is similar to the political rooting around for tax dollars.

Posted at 1:20am on Dec. 1, 2005 The Wilted Rose: McCain 2008

By Carlos

Ok, I'll take heat for this one.  But I am tired of arguing over and over with the McCain hopeful, whom I respect and enjoy for the most part.  Yes, I am thankful for his service to his country.  I would shake his hand and say so any day.  I am not against his voting record for the most part.  Here we start arguing again, but it is my view that he takes the maverick positional vote far to often.

My personal distaste for McCain as a Presidential candidate comes form his addiction to biased media, and the statements he makes in those outlets.  If you are a supporter, and don't know what I am talking about, bless you.  It is about the subjective perception of character.  It is about "moderate" positions that, in essence, undermine the Administration.  However, the wilted rose still smells good to some people, so lets find out who they are...

By Carlos

What is one of the main tenets of the Church of Social Humanists?  In general it is the pursuit of the universal pleasure.  That each individual would receive equal resources, achieve the same 'happiness', and be free to obtain that which satisfies.  It is intended to please everyone.  The pursuit of pleasure universally.  In fact it would be safe to say that it is the promotion of the pleasure state.  Allowing (forcing) each individually the equal opportunity to experience that which is pleasing.  But has this religion encroached upon the Constitution of the United States?  Has our Judiciary become biased towards a particular belief system?

By Carlos

Here is my chance to go beyond my current infidel status and achieve the long sought label of heretic.  I propose a crackpot theory that hinges on the motivations lurking in the subconscious to explain away in unfathomable terms the competition among modern political philosophies.  In the end you may see a connection, as I do, that is not a conclusive explicit indicator of political social behavior, but a instructive generalization.

I am fascinated with psychology.  Even though I am a physicist, the human organism in its most interesting interactions has an amazing amount of compelling draw.  Which brings us to the article of the day.  Apparently Rove wasn't home.  So to prove the fact, the garage was opened.  A picture was taken, a story was sent off hot on the wire.  Yep, a description of Rove's garage contents provided by the AP's Darlene Superville.

Posted at 1:01am on Oct. 13, 2005 The Manners and Spirit of a People

By Carlos

I have reprinted here my latest blog, its to good:

Sometimes we can look back at the pure brilliance of the founding fathers a absorb some insight. In Jefferson's Notes on the State of Virginia there is a extremely pertinent indicator of some of the current political malaise within our great republic. I include the lead in to the fantastic observation as an aside. Many people on both sides of the spectrum have questions about outsourcing jobs. My snide remark would be that Jefferson was all for it. But in seriousness, he has already seen the manners and principles of the workers in the cities of Europe, and found them wanting. This is the same group of workers that form the backbone of socialism thirty years later. Anyhow, let some light in:
