By Catsy
I've been a science fiction fan long before I was politically aware, and as a child it never occurred to me to analyze the favorite worlds of my youth for their political content or message. I got, in a vague sense, that there were messages--the tackling of issues-of-the-day by Star Trek and the fairly blatant proselytizing of the way things oughta be by Heinlein were tough to miss--but since I lacked a firm political identity at the time, I had no frame of reference in which to place these things.
That's changed now.
(Spoiler warning for Niven/Pournelle books and the 2nd season of Battlestar Galactica)
