August 7, 1998 - Almost simultaneously the U.S. embassy in Nairobi, Kenya and the U.S. embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania were attacked using massive truck bombs. The terrorist attacks claimed the lives of 224, including 12 Americans, with an addition of approximately 4500 injuries.
