Osama Bin Lenin

Like Brian De Palma, Osama Bin Laden has recently released a new movie. Like De Palma’s new release, Bin Laden’s new feature is predictably anti-American. Unlike previous Bin Laden special productions, America’s arch-enemy has taken another arrow out of Hollywood’s quiver. Bin Laden has moved almost far enough left to successfully compete for next year’s presidential endorsement from MoveOn.Org. We could almost call him Osama Bin Lenin.
Bin Lenin’s latest propaganda flick incorporates many of the “known facts”™ that pervade the typical speech given by the average leftwing American Populist. He perhaps read Senator Jim Webb’s November 2006 editorial in The Wall Street Journal entitled “Class Struggle.” He certainly nails the meme of an angry orator decrying the abuses of modern industry.
Jim Webb wrote:
As this newspaper has reported, the average CEO of a sizeable corporation makes more than $10 million a year, while the minimum wage for workers amounts to about $10,000 a year, and has not been raised in nearly a decade.
Bin Laden spoke:
"Poor and exploited Americans, unite against your capitalist laws that make the rich richer and the poor poorer,"
"seeks to turn the entire world into a fiefdom of the major corporations under the label of 'globalization' in order to protect democracy."
"the reeling of many [Americans] under the burden of interest-related debts, insane taxes, and real estate mortgages."
I’ve openly and unequivocally referred to addle-pate Jim Webb as a communist on Redstate before, so this is not new news. What perks my interest, is the extent to which his disingenuous rhetoric has now become a staple of enemy propaganda, aimed at demoralizing the American public. Perhaps it shouldn’t come as a shock to hear an Islamic radical justify his jihad against all things American by channeling William Jennings Bryan, and demanding “you shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold.”
Another aspect of this that catches my attention is the correlation between destruction and Marxist beliefs. Bin Laden’s family name graces some of the most elegant and towering edifices in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. It would be hard to become more capitalist than Bin Ladens still in Riyad. The non-jihadi Bin Ladens seem to understand the value of money at least as well as Francisco D’ Anconia. They made their money erecting skyscrapers. If Osama were to direct his screed at them, they would reply as D’ Anconia did in Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged
But you say that money is made by the strong at the expense of the weak? What strength do you mean? It is not the strength of guns or muscles. Wealth is the product of man's capacity to think. Then is money made by the man who invents a motor at the expense of those who did not invent it? Is money made by the intelligent at the expense of the fools? By the able at the expense of the incompetent? By the ambitious at the expense of the lazy? Money is MADE--before it can be looted or mooched--made by the effort of every honest man, each to the extent of his ability.
So what then explains the fact that Bin Laden hates the wealth of others? He certainly reaped the benefits of all the good and noble things his family achieved. Why would he, of all people alive, drink the Che Latte? Ayn Rand perhaps explains that as well.
Only the man who does not need it, is fit to inherit wealth--the man who would make his own fortune no matter where he started. If an heir is equal to his money, it serves him; if not, it destroys him. But you look on and you cry that money corrupted him. Did it? Or did he corrupt his money? Do not envy a worthless heir; his wealth is not yours and you would have done no better with it. Do not think that it should have been distributed among you; loading the world with fifty parasites instead of one, would not bring back the dead virtue which was the fortune. Money is a living power that dies without its root. Money will not serve that mind that cannot match it.
So Osama Bin Laden, the man, stands unfit to serve decency with his money. He can only use it destroy great towers; not build them like his relatives. Even he understands the evil of destruction and therefore gropes to justify himself. He must demonize that which he ruins and cast himself in his movies and in his own mind as an avenger; not a leveler.
Bin Laden is ultimately reduced to Marxism to justify that wanton destruction. He must become the enemy that he clumsily fought in the late 1980’s. Bin Laden heeds the ultimate call of the moral primitive seeking shelter from the decimating truth of his own complete depravity.
In reaching for Marxism to justify his struggle, he has truly sunk to the bottom. He can suffer no military defeat, no embarrassing tribunal, no humiliating spectacle of capture that would debase him or his life any further than this latest video already has. He has heeded the final Luddite impulse, and has no further purpose to exist. The 7th Century, for all its horrors, is now too good and too modern for Osama Bin Lenin.
