“Wading back into the Democratic presidential race, billionaire businessman Bob Johnson said Monday that Sen. Barack Obama would not be his party's leading candidate if he were white.
Johnson's comments to the Observer echoed those of former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro. She stepped down as an adviser to Sen. Hillary Clinton last month after saying Obama wouldn't be where he is if he were white.”

By Common Cents
I am pretty surprised to see blog after blog exposing Obama while there is little mention of Hillary. Who do we really want to face? I am not sure at this point.
I see Obama having a larger variability of outcomes. He could lose big for being exposed as an empty suit, or he could be the change hero and win. Depends if the Dems rally behind him once the nomination is over and MSM makes him their hero once again. I never underestimate the ability of the MSM to turn on a dime as witnessed by the alternating cycles between Obama and Hillary.

Wow, An interesting story by CNN interviewing college students about racism. When pressed about why they believe racism exists, many say they haven't really experienced it much but have been told about it by their elders and see it on the news.
One even said his peers use racism as an excuse for not putting forth effort.

Posted at 6:55pm on Apr. 3, 2008 Fundraising/Election Success Correlation
By Common Cents
Fundraising Totals:
Obama, Barack $193,600,733
Clinton, Hillary $169,003,120
McCain, John $64,654,539
Source: opensecrets.org
Reps are being out fund-raised $362 million to $64 million. Now much of the Dem money is used in their primary battle but the overall picture shows a large bias in fundraising ability to Dems.
Historically, aside from the obvious platform differences is there a correlation between fundraising and election success? Or is the unusually tight primary race skewing the numbers?

"I certainly do remember that trip to Bosnia, and as Togo said, there was a saying around the White House that if a place was too small, too poor, or too dangerous, the president couldn't go, so send the First Lady. That’s where we went.

Posted at 10:31am on Nov. 21, 2007 Can Oprah puts Hillary Out of Business?
By Common Cents
Oprah is treading on thin ice. Obama has indicated that Oprah will begin stumping for him. I posted this a few months ago. Oprah has the respect(Hillary campaign should look this word up) of millions of women. Women trust her opinion almost without question for a good reason. Oprah has built respect and real credibility, not manufactured MSM hocus pocus.
Can the Clinton machine neutralize the Oprah effect? I think we have seen a little bit of that over the blowup in the media about problems at Oprah's school in Africa.

By Common Cents
CNN has been pimping their "Planet in Peril" special with memos put out to use the forest fires to pimp the special.
Preaching gloom and doom to keep us feeling guilty so we pay ever increasing taxes without too much fuss.
A segment of the show is endangered animals being smuggled into the US. WTF!? At least show me some gore or natural disasters....If smuggled animals is a big priority putting our planet in peril I think I'll be able to sleep ok tonite. I'll let AC and Jeff Corwin worry about that one.

By Common Cents
I saw a teaser for an immigration story on CNN by Rick Sanchez today.
Rick Sanchez, "getting personal" on immigration story.
A "news" outlet blatantly admitting they are getting personal and have a biased reporter doing a story.
Things that make you go hmmmmmm.
Sanchez is from Cuba and studied journalism in Minnesota. Arrggggggg.
Here is another blurb on Sanchez via Wikipedia.
He is one of the nation’s first Cuban American news anchors and made broadcast history with two shows on two mediums in two languages.[1]

By Common Cents
We all know about Rush, Medved, Prager, Hannity, Ingraham, etc..
I thought it might be a good idea to start a list of good lesser known/up and coming radio show hosts and their web streaming links.
List your favorite talk show host/link and a little about them.
One local that I enjoy here in MN is Jason Lewis. 4-7PM Central live broadcast and podcasts available. He recently guest hosted for Rush.

No Free Dinner.
Was cleaning out email box and found this email on taxcuts.
Here is a simple analogy even a liberal can understand:
Tax Cuts - A Simple Lesson in Economics
Let's put tax cuts in terms even liberals can understand. Suppose that every day, ten people go out for dinner. The bill for all ten comes to $100.
If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The Ant and the Grasshopper
OLD VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks he's a fool and laughs and dances and plays the Summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE ORIGINAL STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

Ahmadinejad just said there are no homosexuals in Iran. He said the phenomenon does not exist there. That was the first time he got boos and some laughs.

I am reading about the Dream, no, Nightmare Act and recalling Durbin "reaching out" to Redstaters to get our input a few weeks ago. There was intense debate whether to engage him or not. I wonder if we have learned any lessons in cooperating w/ the left, especially people like Durbin. So far I have not seen any crap from Durbin saying his amendment is some bipartisan effort but it still has a p
