It is time for Reagan21

There is a growing and palpable discontent with Congress throughout the Republican Party and the country as a whole. The American people are screaming out loud to once again be inspired by their leaders in Washington. The once proud Republican name has been tinged by a wandering vision and loss of integrity. America is ready for a revitalized Republican movement that restores the great hope for our party and nation.
Yesterday, I joined Senators Tom Coburn and Jim DeMint and Representatives Paul Ryan, Jeb Hensarling, John Shadegg, and John Campbell to introduce Reagan21, a bicameral new partnership committed to principled policies that will set a 21st century conservative governing philosophy. Reagan21 members will lead by example and offer bold ideas to revive the spirit and optimism of President Reagan. Amongst our many principled commitments are a fairer, flatter tax code, adoption of English as our official language, personal ownership of Social Security, and an end to the flawed system of congressional earmarking. Members of Reagan21 will request no new earmarks.
Above all, Reagan21 seeks to advance integrity and honor in the Republican Party and public service; members will be expected to live up the highest possible standard. Our nation yearns for proud voices of common-sense and conservatism. I welcome all Americans, regardless of party affiliation, to join our movement. Together we can once again instill freedom and liberty as the principles that define our national identity.
But, is this caucus completely separate from the Republican Study Committee? Are there differences between the two?
"This is not going to be another steering committee or Republican Study Committee" Sen. Coburn just told me... The technical details aren’t worked out yet but we will get you all more information soon. Could this get our brand back?
Once the RSC was the epicenter of genuine conservatism on the Hill. Now (IMHO) it's been co-opted by business-as-usual Republicanism.
Michelle, you're with HE, right? Love that mag, esp the print copy. It's the best, most uncompromisingly conservative mag of the big 3 (over NR, Weekly Standard). And I'm not paid to say that!

I don't understand why this is necessary with the Republican Study Committee. It seems redundant. Wouldn't it be better just to focus on the RSC more?

With Congress' approval rating do you think we should just stick with RSC? Has the RSC convinced Americans that House Republicans are Reagan Republicans? Even Hensarling thinks this is necessary. Plus Reagan21 is bicameral AND members must commit to NO MORE EARMARKS. I think this could be a really good thing if its executed the right way.
And E Pluribus - H.E. thanks you for reading :)
Oh please! Congress's approval ratings can hardly be attributed to the RSC.
The Bicameral thing is interesting, but still.

Since the loathsome Chuckie Schumer had this to say via Drudge and The Hill today:
“We’re about at the tail end of the Ronald Reagan era, where his ideas — fresh and, even as a Democrat, I’d say, many of them needed at the time — have just lost steam, lost resonance,” Schumer said.
Some ideas always have resonance Mr. Schumer.

You are absolutely speaking to something that resonates among the discontented Conservative base. We've been unheard and uninspired by the GOP really since 1996 or so, since the Contract With America fizzled out.
I don't know you previous to now, not really, Congressman Price -- but if you are involved with Hensarling, Coburn, Demint, and Shaddegg, you are running with the few men who DO inspire us. That's good company and I have to consider that you may be of the same mold.
I look forward to hearing the details of Reagan21. Post here often with details, and listen too.

I support this 100%!
I actually think the RSC is still very important. The briefings that Congressmen get from the RSC consistently advise them to vote conservatively and in a way that advances freedom over government intrusion. If only the entire Republican party was in the RSC, we probably wouldn't be talking about how the party has "lost it's way" and isn't made up of true conservatives anymore.
I may not be in the Congress or an government official but I sure would like to sign up and join this group.

Do you have additional information? Can you push this as a public agenda the way Newt pushed the Contract with America?
Is there some way we can support this group and it's ideals?
Socialism doesn't work. It looks nice on paper, but it's been tried and it's failed miserably every time (usually accompanied by widespread death and suffering).
