Shameless plug for the Reagan Library on the 4th

If you live in the Southern California area and are looking for something fun to do on the 4th, I heartily recommend a drive out to Simi Valley to visit the Reagan Library. While I live in Florida, I work most weeks in Los Angeles, and my wife and I have spent the 4th in LA for the last two years. Both years we have headed up to the library during the day, then settled in for watching fireworks from our hotel.
The Reagan Library has many cool attractions, but the best part is the fully assembled Air Force One that Reagan used during the 80s. It is fully restored inside to look exactly as it did during his presidency. There are also many other exhibits, plus special activites for the day including bands, watermelons and presidential impersonators.
Plan to get there early, or be ready for a long walk up the hill. All of the activies will wind down around 5PM giving you plenty of time to enjoy the exhibits and still make it to your fireworks.
