HotAir has Ed Morrissey's story on the ridiculous violence a couple of thugs from the Tarik ibn Zayad Academy, with an acronym of "TIZA," inflicted on a visiting TV crew. A dictionary of Syrian Arabic will tell you that "tiza" in street slang is the Arabic word for "c**k" or "pr**k." I checked with a couple of Arab friends of mine living in the Middle East----one of them responded who had actually supervised two Muslim schools in the DC area and he sided with the school's need for privacy!! But this former Ambassador admitted that no Arab School would be stupid enough to ever allow others to use the acronym TIZA. He guessed it was being run by Pakistanis!

I received an e-mail from Tommy F.'s parents last night. He and two fellow naval personnel were traveling in China on R&R west of Beijing and he has gone off the radar. Yesterday afternoon, the US Navy contacted his parents who live here in S. Florida & asked if he had contacted them. Up to now, he is still missing and unaccounted for, along with his buddies.

The media has been very gentle on Michelle Obama, but one blogger asks a very interesting question about Bernardine Dohrn's possible mentoring of Michelle at Sidley Austin in Chicago, where Dohrn worked as a paralegal [her felony conviction meant she couldn't pass the Illinois bar exam] while Michelle was an intern during summers while in law school. Michelle was later taken into the prestigious firm when she graduated from Harvard Law. Michelle in turn mentored Obama in '89 & they eventually married.

I took my 18-year old daughter who is taking several courses in history, philosophy, and political science at the University of Miami to see Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. She was very impressed [we are cafeteria Catholics] with the argument that suppression of the teaching of ID even as a heuristic device is streng verboten as Dr. Berlinski said. Ben Stein cornered Dr. Dawkins and the arrogant professor simply was unable to answer the "prime mover" argument when after he posited panspermia from advanced civilizations from other planets [which was the Soviet party line for a while], Dawkins was unable to say how the advanced aliens got kick-started. Stein gently kept Dawkins writhing on the hook. All in all, so much better than the apodictic twaddle doled out by Michael Moore, laughable to the extreme on health-care as any Miami Cuban can inform you---and Al Gore, who simply says "the argument is settled" and let the evidence be damned.

Harvard has come out with a study showing that the MSM has a massive bias toward the Democratic candidates in the '08 election race. Don't expect to see this on your evening news!

James Watson has the temerity to tell the Emperor's Court that the Ruler's Wardrobe makes him look naked as a jaybird.
Dr Watson told The Sunday Times that he was "inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa" because "all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours – whereas all the testing says not really". He said there was a natural desire that all human beings should be equal but "people who have to deal with black employees find this not true".
