Posted at 8:05pm on Mar. 19, 2008 Race is Irrelevant

By David123

I believe many people are injecting race into this controversy involving Senator Obama and Pastor Wright. Race is irrelevant to why all Americans should reject Senator Obama’s bid for the presidency.

Suppose the presidential primaries had gone differently. Barrack Obama consistently received less than 20 percent of the vote and had dropped out by now, but John Edwards was the front –runner now with 55% of the votes and delegates. Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic nominee only if she got the votes of almost all the superdelegates. While Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and John McCain disagree on some issues they share at least one characteristic; they are all white.

Posted at 11:20am on Feb. 2, 2008 Can 4 Years of Harm be Repaired?

By David123

I have read many posts on Redstate by people saying they would sit out the 2008 election or even vote for Hillary if McCain is the Republican nominee. If this is you, I urge you to rethink.

First, let me say that of the candidates now running, I believe Mitt Romney is the best.

However, if McCain is the Republican nominee the alternative in November will be Clinton or Obama. So before you vote or stay home in November you need to think real hard about the consequences to America and whether or not those consequences can be fixed. On at least two issues, McCain is sharply different than Clinton/Obama and on those two issues a Dem president would do irrepairable damage.

By David123

Ad 1
Scene opens with some American soldiers guarding some Nazi prisoners in uniform. The words “Belgium , 1944” float across the screen. Close up; American officer, holding radio tells sergeant, “Sergeant, we’re getting reports of some Krauts dressing in American uniforms. You see any guys you don’t know, check-em out real good and make sure they’re really our guys.”
Later a jeep pulls up with two “American” soldiers.

Posted at 11:19pm on Jan. 22, 2008 How Rudy can fix Bush and the Republican Brand

By David123

First, let me say I’m writing this as a Rudy supporter, but I hope whoever the Republican nominee is can adopt as much of this as possible.

What is wrong with Bush, and how does it hurt us with independent/rational dem voters?
1. Iraq quagmire
2. Katrina
3. Amnesty for illegal aliens
4. Inability to get the message out

There are two criticisms of Iraq. The people with the extreme criticism see Bush and America as morally wrong and want us to lose. We can’t attract their votes. But most Americans believe Iraq was a moral venture; pulling down Sadaam’s statue was very popular. It just seems to have been botched [as portrayed by MSM].

Posted at 9:20pm on Jan. 5, 2008 Rudy Giuliani: Solid Overall Conservative

By David123

Looking at Rudy Giuliani we see a man who has a proven record of outstanding effectiveness and is solidly conservative on the issues.

National security/GWOT: definitely conservative; more conservative than McCain and Huckabee on GITMO and terrorist “rights”

Taxes: definitely conservative; proven record of lowering taxes and reducing government waste

Preserving marriage: favors a constitutional amendment to preserve marriage if necessary; more conservative than Thompson and McCain, less conservative than Bush, Romney, and Huckabee

Posted at 7:47pm on Sep. 17, 2007 Iraq and Viet Nam

By David123

There is one life and death difference between Iraq and Viet Nam. People’s opinions of the Viet Nam war and the war protesters vary, but there is certainly one thing that the Viet Nam protesters were absolutely correct about. They would sarcastically say, “What’s Ho Chi Minh going to do – invade California?” Of course they were right – the North Vietnamese were no threat to us at all in our own country, and they didn’t threaten us after we withdrew.
