I know we sometimes say that the Democrats are supporting our enemies by their subservient foreign policy, and perhaps there is an argument for that. But let's not forget those Americans who really do support our enemies.
Someone graciously added me to the email distribution list of World Can't Wait. This is the group whose representative, Sunsara Taylor, repeatedly called for revolution in the United States at a speech at the University of Georgia. Sounds fine enough--I think we need to revolutionize the tax system, the welfare system, etc. Sounds great, that is, until she gave her definition of revolution: violent overthrow of the US Government. She did kindly explain that she wouldn't recommend this violent revolution until they have enough people (millions and millions, she said) to accomplish it. At least she isn't calling for an armed insurgency.

As Al Gore compares global warming to the rise of Hitler...and the Economist's cartoonist drinks the koolaid Al Gore regurgitates, it seems a reminder of tyrannical, oppressive egomaniacs (i.e. Hitler and Stalin wannabes) is needed.

Disagree with Czar Putin? Meet Grusha, Prison Warden. It seems Czar Putin doesn't just arrest criminals. He has this terrible habit of arresting (and sometimes killing--his favorite method, you ask? Radioactive tea. Quite a delicacy.) political opponents, journalists, businessmen, and really anybody who dares disagree with him. That last link is from a special report CNN had last night that was quite informative and well-done.

I asked this question on the previous post about the Ronulan's being invaded by the government for printing illegal money, but it received no good answer. So, alas, I'll ask it again.
We can legally trade asset-backed notes in the market. If Ronulan money is redeemable for a set amount of gold or silver, can the Ronulans argue in court that their "money" was not tender but rather legally traded, interest-free notes callable for a set amount of gold or silver?

Mitt Romney was in Michigan, Colorado, Arizona and Nevada and then went back to Michigan. Rudy Giuliani visited Florida, Michigan, South Carolina, Alabama, Washington and New Hampshire. John McCain went from Michigan to Iowa to New Hampshire.
But where was Fred, as in Fred Thompson?

Aviation Week has an article describing just how Israel's non-stealth fighters could evade Syrian detection during their attack a few weeks ago. It bodes well for the United States.
From the article:
U.S. aerospace industry and retired military officials indicated today that a technology like the U.S.-developed “Suter” airborne network attack system developed by BAE Systems and integrated into U.S. unmanned aircraft by L-3 Communications was used by the Israelis. The system has been used or at least tested operationally in Iraq and Afghanistan over the last year.
The technology allows users to invade communications networks, see what enemy sensors see and even take over as systems administrator so sensors can be manipulated into positions so that approaching aircraft can’t be seen, they say. The process involves locating enemy emitters with great precision and then directing data streams into them that can include false targets and misleading messages algorithms that allow a number of activities including control.
My first thought: turn their systems into a game of pacman.

This is rumor. This is hearsay. But Truth Caucus (www.truthcaucus.com) is reporting that the word on the street is...Castro is dead.
Here's what we have so far:
+ Human Events notes Castro's unmistakable absence at...his own birthday party.
+ South Florida's NBC Channel 6 online (http://www.nbc6.net/news/13897934/detail.html) mentions that Cuban press began running installments of a memoir written by the tyrant.
+ Celeb news site perezhilton.com: Hilton reports "very loud rumblings" that Castro is dead. Mr. Hilton is Cuban and told National Post "It would be awesome because I am Cuban. I have a real connection to this story. My family had to flee his dictorial, totalitarian, oppressive, communist, evil regime."

According to MSNBC, Sen. Joe Biden's son is now scheduled to go to Iraq. A Captain in the Delaware National Guard and Delaware's Attorney General, Capt. Beau Biden has been notified that his unit is scheduled to be deployed to Iraq in 2008.
As someone who has a brother currently serving in Iraq, receiving this news about a family member can be hard. Biden responded, "I don't want him going...But I tell you what, I don't want my grandson or my granddaughters going back in 15 years and so how we leave makes a big difference." I don't want my brother going either, insofar as I don't want him in harm's way. I also don't want our children or grandchildren going back in 15 years; or worse, I don't want them fighting the same enemy at home.
But the Senator and I vehemently disagree.

Before the Velvet Revolution of 1989, this joke also held true for the Czech Republic. Tired of long food lines and subjugated human liberty, the frustrated Czech citizens overthrew their Communist oppressors in one of the only bloodless revolutions in history. In a modern-day Jericho-style victory, Czechs of all ages and trades lifted their voices and down tumbled the walls of Communism.

Who would they rather have the world's largest economy? I've heard that Venezuela would be a great place to own a business right now...
I can't wait til Fox and News Corp unveil their new business channel. In the meantime, I'll stick to Bloomberg TV.

The University of Georgia just published an interesting study (http://www.uga.edu/news/artman/publish/070611_Sullivan.shtml). Analyzing all 122 post WWII conflicts in which the US, USSR, Russia, China, Britain, or France faced a weaker enemy, the weaker nations prevailed 39% of the time.
The researcher, Patricia Sullivan, said the most important factor influencing whether the more powerful nation is successful is whether its strategic objective can be accomplished with brute force alone or requires the cooperation of the adversary. Makes sense.

Planned Parenthood responds: "They went in with an objective to manipulate our staff, and they did succeed in manipulating our staff."
I guess this was the worse of two options--either admit they encourage breaking the law or claim that their "professional" staff was manipulated by a sophomore girl.

The Planned Parenthood employee tells the student that, "If I would do it again, I would not continue the pregnancy." She is talking about her current 16 year old child. How do you think her teenage child feels about that choice? I'd like to find out.

The brave students involved with the LA Advocate (www.laadvocate.com) caught on film representatives of Planned Parenthood breaking California law. The representatives encourage a 15 year old girl to illegally change her age to become eligible for an unreported abortion. She is accompanied by her 23-year old statutory rapist boyfriend. According to the film's caption, this directly violates California penal code 11165.7.

The students involved deserve much respect for this investigative journalism. It takes A LOT of courage to pull this off.

The Green Party needs our support, and I'm asking you to give it. Not in votes, contributions, or volunteer time, but we share a common goal: getting them on the ballot.
I proudly signed my name on a petition to add the Green Party to the ballot next November. Don't get me wrong--I don't just oppose the Green Party's viewpoint, I've been so outspoken about their Communist ideology that I've received threats.

After posting a comment that I thought she should be careful about making these remarks following the VT tragedy, here's what she had to say:
And don't play that virgina tech crap with me- where were you when i made a "threat" to someone the day after an Iraq bombing or a Palestini bombing or any other world-scale tragedy??? Or are those lives just not as important?
Besides, it wasn't a physical threat, it was a verbal one. If i see, you, I will verbally attack you!
Ah, the voice of reason! Apparently she makes threats on a frequent basis.
Some of you know I'm Publisher of a conservative newspaper, The Georgia GuardDawg (www.guarddawg.com), at University of Georgia. Our latest issue, which is posted in pdf format on our website, covers primarily the UGA Campus Greens and the Young Democrats. We discuss their anti-war rally, their sponsorship of a Revolutionary Communist speaker, and a debate in which apparently the Campus Green representative (Zaid) repeatedly "hushed" the GuardDawg representative when he tried to speak.
Now they resort to threats.

A Virginia Tech senior from South Korea was behind the massacre of at least 30 people locked inside a campus building in the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history, the university said Tuesday.
Ballistics tests also show that one of the guns inside that building was used in another shooting two hours earlier, at a dorm, Virginia State Police said.
