Man, I'm *old*!

Just noticed this morning that my account is 3 years, 3 days old today! Wow, didn't know I was such an old fart around these parts.
Given that, I'd like to use that as an opportunity to thank the folks at RedState, past and present, from Erick and the Directors to Jeff, Moe, Neil and all the Editors who keep the joint clean on a daily basis to all of my fellow commenters and posters.

Oh, I'm probably okay because you are probably older than me in real life. :>)
And ditto the sentiments. Redstate was such a good thing for me while I lived on the left coast and is a beacon of light now that I reside in Old Europe.

It's been fun - looking forward to much more.
To answer Joli - I lurked for about 2-months, from just before the 2004 election to the first week of 2005, before signing-up. I was attracted by the give-and-take and the general overall civility - the ability to disagree without being disagreeable - of the site that was very, very different from other similar places. Glad to see that hasn't changed much.
Sure, we get hot from time to time and I have certainly been known to lose my temper on occasion as well - but that's to be expected with people who are passionate about their POV.

And you know as well as I do that in this godforsaken wasteland there's absolutely no way we're going to be able to give up our RedState habit without some really brutal taste-aversion therapy or something similarly vicious.
Always a pleasure being here with you, docj. I've got you beat by about 6 1/2 weeks, plus about 2 months prior to that under my old nick, BlueGene and an occasional appearance by my alter-ego minion/underling/manservant ikslawok.
And I've never felt so young! :)
