Posted at 2:54pm on Jun. 3, 2008 MA-SEN: Ogonowski Turns In Required Signatures - UPDATE 30 short
By EaBo-Clipper
According to the Boston Globe, Jim Ogonowski has fallen 30 signatures short. Here is a statement from his team.
" Earlier today, the Ogonowski Campaign released a statement signifying that more than 10,000 certified signatures would be submitted on behalf of Jim Ogonowski to the Secretary of State's Office. That statement was accurate and those signatures were delivered. However, when submitted to the Secretary of State's Office we were notified that some town clerks had erred and had not properly signed the nomination papers. These papers were corrected by the clerks but were unable to be returned to the Secretary of State's Office by 5pm. The removal of those certified signatures from our totals, thereby dropped us below the threshold needed to qualify for the ballot. Previously, the campaign had made a conscious decision not to challenge questionable activity at town clerks offices, because it felt it would be unnecessary. This activity included: missing signature sheets, sheets mailed to Jim before being picked up eliminating the possibility of a review, and great disparity between original claims of initial signature counts and actual totals. However, due to today's developments, the campaign will be reviewing its options on the matter.

Now that the signature drive is over, Jim Ogonowski's campaign for US Senate has taken the next step. Starting today they have gone on cable television statewide with the ad below. The ad captures the heartbeat of the Commonwealth pretty well. What do you think?

Posted at 11:28am on Mar. 4, 2008 Angelina Jolie Calls for Continued US Presence in Iraq
By EaBo-Clipper
I am absolutely floored. An A-list Hollywood Actress gets it. Angelina Jolie the "Goodwill Ambassador" for the UN High Commission on Refugees is calling for continued US Presence in Iraq. In a Washington Post Op-Ed, Ms. Jolie states(emphasis mine):
Today's humanitarian crisis in Iraq -- and the potential consequences for our national security -- are great. Can the United States afford to gamble that 4 million or more poor and displaced people, in the heart of Middle East, won't explode in violent desperation, sending the whole region into further disorder?

Posted at 8:00am on Mar. 1, 2008 Ogonowski Money Bomb for March
By EaBo-Clipper
I've started a Jim Ogonowski money bomb page for the month of March at March4Ogo.blogspot.com. Jim has a great chance to unseat John Kerry, about whom 56% of Massachusetts voters have said, it's time to give someone else a chance, as recently as last year.
Can you spare $50, $25, $10 or even $5.00 to sending John Kerry in Retirement? Please donate by the end of the quarter. I'm using Slatecard as the engine behind the money bomb and if you don't want to go to the money bomb page you can donate right here. Please let your friends know.

By EaBo-Clipper
Now that we have a presumptive nominee for President we need to start working on the imagery and quick. The Democrats are quite frankly kicking our ass during these post primary events. Hillary! made the mistake after Iowa of having old/ establishment people on stage. Who could forget the imagery of Madeline Albright, nothing says donning of change than Madeline Albright. Hillary! quickly changed, in addition to crying at opportune times, she went more Obama in her primary night imagery.

By EaBo-Clipper
Are you concerned about the types of Justices that John McCain will send to the Bench? Senator Sam Brownback says don't be. According to Brownback, John McCain was one of the few Senators that stood with him to stop the nomination of Harriett Meyers to the Supreme Court. This steadfast opposition on McCain's part lead to Roberts and Alito. Here is a letter from Senator Brownback describing this:

I received my RomneyCareTM tax form in the mail today with the rest of my Massachusetts Resident Tax forms. I thought the Redstate community would be interested in the text of the form. Governor Romney was very proud of this legislation once and even stood on stage with Ted Kennedy while he signed it. (click on the picture to view full form)

Posted at 9:32am on Jan. 5, 2008 Mitt Romney on McCain in 2002 and Today Yet Another Evolving Position
By EaBo-Clipper
Back in 2002 when he was running for Governor with Kerry Healey, Mitt Romney had this to say about John McCain:
One of the reasons the people of America honor Senator McCain and why I'm so proud to have him standing with me today is that he has brought American values to the debate on the issues we care about.
