Senate DREAM Act - best interest of America?

This week the Senate will consider the DREAM Act by Sen Durbin as well as increases to H-1B and H-2B Visas. Again, whenever Congress is in session, we continue to lose more of our rights and the GREAT AMERICAN GIVEAWAY(TM) continues.
The DREAM Act gives amnesty to anyone who has been in the U.S. for 5 years and who was under 16 at the time of their entry to the U.S. The person's parents must have been denied legal status. In addition, it appears to create an anchor situation allowing those illegal immigrants to bring in the rest of their family. This law attempts to reward illegal immigrants and creates another magnet for folks to come here illegally. The H-1B visa program gives businesses the opportunity to hire foreign skilled workers often at the expense of our own American citizens. The H-2B visa program basically provides amnesty to farm workers - this could grant amnesty to over 3 million illegal immigrants.
Since the 80's, the importation of illegal and legal workers caused increases in our crime rate, forced poverty levels to stagnate (they would have decreased), caused lawyers to advocate bringing in cheaper workers and finally increased our population by a larger rate than at any other point in our history. If you are a liberal, these laws will continue to promote the depression of wages of the middle and lower income classes, continue the population growth in the U.S. which negatively impacts the environment and hurt our own social services sector. If you are a conservative, then these are simply obvious money give-away laws as well as a form of corporate subsidy. The only benefit I see to the DREAM Act is it might see portions of our immigrant population more educated. Regardless, I have yet to see the true benefit of bringing on millions of legal and illegal workers at the large rates we have seen since the 80's. Our population is expanding at phenomenal rates and we will soon see an America at half a billion.
It appears that regardless of the facts above, no Republican or Democrat Senator has made a statement condemning any of the above laws/amendments. So, we may see a partial amnesty by the end of this week.

write, call, do what needs to be done. Get every Senator in America to understand this is a criminal giveaway of a great nation.
The fact that a bunch of bureaucrats did not enforce American
laws for 5 years should not entitle anyone to free citizenship.
Stop the giveaway of America.
"Criminal giveaway of a great nation?" I'm sorry but if you say that when you contact these Senators, I don't think they're going to take you seriously.
Nobody's taking America away and giving it to anyone else, and certainly nobody's committing any crimes.

is to be used to make life better for illegal immigrants, and that is not criminal? What do they have to do before Americans wake up? Would making everyone in Mexico an American citizen wake America up? Would turning the defense of this nation over to the UN wake America up?
Screaming hysterics don't make Americans pay attention, because that's all they get from the left every single day. People are not going to consider giving amnesty to people brought here illegally by their parents to be a criminal enterprise, sorry.

criminal law to take American taxpayer dollars and give them to foreign citizens for no reason.
We already have the born in America, get a free citizen ship than bring your whole family in behind you group. Now because some children were not born conveniently inside our borders, we're supposed to rescue them by giving them all the benefits that they missed by failing to be born in the right place.
The left gets everything they want by screaming hysterics, but the right, they are above that kind of thing, so they get nothing. Name one thing the Left has not gotten, that they screamed about in the past 50 years.

off the table. What the Democrat controlled Senate that every one seems to think is an absolute certain event will do,about any of these issues, if we allow the election of Hillary Clinton, can be written in concrete today.
The fact that conservatives have stopped some leftist plan, in the past, is going to mean nothing when there is not enough Republicans left to stop them in the future.

but thanks Neil. Specific facts do the easy job of arguing much better than a blanket "criminal giveaway of a great nation" statement would do.
But on your second point: there is a giveaway being proposed or already underway - we can see it in our health care and social services costs, population growth, and the costs of increasing crime. Maybe it isn't criminal, because Congress makes the laws to allow it to be legal. But this latest gives in-state tuition rates for illegal aliens as well as amnesty.
And states are acting criminally with their own laws which violate the current U.S. laws in allowing illegal aliens in-state tuition even though federal law prohibits it.
Words do mean things. A blanket statement such as "nobody's committing any crimes" is false on many levels. Can you point out specifically that "nobody's committing any crimes" - in which area are you referring to: Congress, U.S. citizens, - who and what are not committing crimes. I pointed out one crime above. I could easily add those personnel crossing the border committing misdemeanors.
Also, "nobody's taking America away and giving it to anyone else". Again, what specifically are you referring to here. If you are referring to my tax money, I would state yes my America is being taken away. And I pointed out at least one giveaway in the top paragraph. Here are a few more: education costs rise, poverty increases, and prices increase as population and demand rise.

Sure, I'll elaborate: When one claims that this bill is a 'criminal giveaway,' that's a specific accusation that the framers and supporters of the bill are committing a crime.
I see no evidence of that.
From what I see of the bill it's no good, but now is not the time for a load of Hot Air/Polipundit rhetoric. That stuff works for those people whipping themselves up for the latest outrage, but it's not persuasive. And persuasion is what we need at the moment.

Wow amnesty again!!! Why won't these congress critters just let a bad idea fade away?
...a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right...

Typical Washington shenanigans, putting lipstick on the pig.
This bill practically legalizes everyone. Does it include any enforcement provisions? I doubt it.
Is America even paying attention?

Dream Act???
Why the special treatment?
Some of us once had dreams of our own.
Back in the 60’s the Federal Government came into the public schools and brainwashed us as little children with the message that the children we were about to have were unwanted because the population was rising so fast. They launched a program called, “Zero Population Growth”. They pushed Family Planning and birth control pills. Now they call the same programs, "Safe Sex" but the results are the same. I think you and I both know that you only have to trick people for their few child bearing years and there is no going back.
Many of us never had a say in the future of our unborn.
I am the result of two living cells. One from each of my parents. They are the result of two living cells, one from each of their parents. I wasn't just born. I am a continuation of life. I am a living thing that reaches back into time perhaps 400 million years and the result of billions of joining of pairs of cells. It is possible that if you were to follow my cells back to my parent’s cells and beyond that my family tree touches every living thing here on earth. That is if we limit ourselves to believing life was created here on earth. If it rained down from the immensity of the universe it could reach back into that immensity of time and space, and who knows what relationships and who knows what species.
My family line succeeded, at least until I came up against the Federal Government and their plan to control the population.
I have seen the Federal Government do little else to control the population.
The open border, United States laws only apply to some, is a serious slap in the face. No, not a slap in the face, it reaches well beyond that. Maybe back to the beginning of time and stretch to the bounds of the universe.
I don't understand your post. Did the Federal Government come into your class and forcibly sterilize you? That's how you make it sound.
My wife and I both went to public school. We both had sex ed. We're planning on having children soon (more than one... maybe up to five). My high school classes never once stemmed my desire to eventually have children. They didn't dissuade my wife from wanting children. They didn't deter the majority of my classmates from eventually having children. I don't see how you can blame the government if you decided not to have them. I can't imagine having a teacher persuasive enough to make one forego having children.
First of all I don't think this is an "American Giveaway". This is better then having millions of undocumented CRIMINAL immigrants everywhere without proper handling. This is also not a reward. These children had no say in what their parents were doing, i'm not saying it was right in the first place, but these kids grow up like any other American kid and go through the same process of education so they're not competing for the same spot or position. The two students had the same education, same opportunities, and both are capable of learning the same material. What this looks like is a sense of insecurity within the American community, why else would they worry about an immigrant taking their spot, or they're space? Becuase they know that an undocumented student, given the opportunity, may or may not do better then them. When I read many articles or hear about people saying that these immigrants are taking their spots, i would like for many to look back hundreds of years. Whose land did we take? We took the land fromt he ORIGINAL AMERICANS, THE NATIVE AMERICANS, most people out there proud of their American heritage should look back and stop being anit-immigrant because that is the same way many of their ancestors got here to the great land of opportunity, when they wiped a whole race out. I am not saying it was a good thing, but most of these students just want to contribute to the American society, politics and economy; many of these students could achieve great goals for this country if given the chance. All of these students want to study and work with other citzens that have the same dreams, interests, goals, and mindset as them.

I believe Senator Jeff Sessions is leading the charge against this amendment so I believe that there are at least a few in opposition.
