Posted at 9:11pm on Feb. 9, 2008 My prediction - Huckabee will win Louisiana
By Ender
Fox News just showed exit polls from Louisiana and Huckabee won decisively not just among Evangelicals, but also among Conservatives. Decisively.
Kansas.
Then Louisiana.
Washington State primaries are next and while I imagine McCain should cruise there, we shall see how big his margin is there.
From Texas Governor's plea to Huckabee to get out of the race, we can deduce that they are not feeling all that comfortable about McCain's chances there.

Posted at 8:31pm on Feb. 6, 2008 The travesty that's been perpetrated on the Republican party
By Ender
Last year I decided I did not want to be associated with GOP anymore. I was disgusted with the complete abandonment of the small government Conservatism that initially captivated me and made me join the Republican party.
I was still in high school in 1993 and watching Newt Gingrich start up his crusade for mainstream Conservatism based on our core values of Small Government, Fiscal Responsibility, Lower Taxes, and unapologetic Capitalism truly inspired me. I went on to join the College Republicans in 1994 and was a proud member of the GOP.

Posted at 11:20am on Feb. 5, 2008 Your quick guide to Super Tuesday (Times and Expectations)
By Ender
What should you watch for today? Let me quickly outline what you can expect on the Republican side and what are the signs of your favorite candidate doing well.
The first results you are going to get are from West Virginia, sometime around 11:30am-Noon. Elected delegates, State and County executive committee members, and members of the State legislature are coming together for essentially a straw poll. These results are not terribly important in the scheme of things, but could give a slight boost to Romney if he wins. Since this is not a regular GOP primary, it could go anywhere. Knowing that, Romney is in WV right now trying to sway delegates.

Posted at 12:57pm on Feb. 4, 2008 Final Super Tuesday Analysis (CA Update)
By Ender
I will update the numbers as more polls come in - Current as of 8:30pm EST, Feb 5th
[Update] It looks like Romney is on the verge of victory in California. His numbers have been going up in the latest polls. So it's not all over yet :)
This is a final examination of Super Tuesday polls. Instead of giving insanely positive and optimistic predictions for Romney, I will be a bit more fair and objective about tomorrow's results. Still, in close states I will definitely lean Romney for the following reasons. I believe that the Conservative base will turn out at higher numbers than the moderates and Conservatives are still more likely to support Romney. Also I think most Conservatives / Evangelicals noticed that Huckabee has no chance whatsoever, compared to a minor but existent chance for Romney and will move towards Romney. I think the national Talk Radio hosts will finally have some impact on the Conservative turnout.

Posted at 12:39pm on Feb. 2, 2008 How Romney can derail McCain (a look at state polls)
By Ender
Here I will quickly examine latest polls and Romney's chances to actually derail the premature coronation of John McCain. Unlike the large number of people eager to get on the bandwagon, I will not jump until the fat lady has sung. Sorry. And yes, I don't know if I will ever vote for McCain as a Conservative and it will depend on his behavior if he wins the GOP nomination.
I will present the best possible scenario for Mitt Romney which I give about 10-15% chance of happening.

The media is trying to shove McCain down our throats, screaming that he is the presumptive nominee especially with Rudy and Arnold endorsing him. It is the Media, and not the Republican party, that is heavily invested in having McCain, the fake conservative, represent the GOP. It is in the Media's interest to have moderates take control of the GOP and destroy the Conservative majority.
As we saw in yesterday's debate, Mitt Romney is not interested in just lying down and accepting the Media's (and Dem) wisdom on who should lead the GOP. And while the coronation of McCain has all but started, we, who care about the Conservative ideology, still have a chance, a decent chance to defeat this presumptive and preemptive favorite.

Posted at 2:58pm on Jan. 30, 2008 What Romney needs to do now
By Ender
Disclaimer: I have switched from supporting Rudy Giuliani to Mitt Romney in the last couple of weeks. I am a liberal/moderate on social issues and very conservative on economic/defense issues. I strongly oppose McCain and could potentially not vote for him if he is the nominee.
That said this is what I think Romney needs to do in the next few days before Super Tuesday:
"I cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us, at the expense of middle-class Americans who most need tax relief." - John McCain, Senate floor statement before voting against President Bush’s tax cut, May 26, 2001

I voted for President Bush twice. I have absolutely no regrets. If I had to re-vote again, I would cast exactly the same vote. That is not because I support every single thing he's done or everything he is for, far from it, especially recently. It is because ideologically he was far superior to anything Democrats can and will ever offer. He has not been a steadfast leader and is fairly ideologically confused but his heart is in the right place and I offer no apologies for supporting him.

Republicans across the country are reeling. We half-expected this but could not quite believe that it might actually happen. I thought the mighty republican turnout would save us but in the end it's extremely hard to turn out troops who are highly disillusioned with the last 4-6 years. The way I see it is Republicans deserved it but the country did not. Republicans are being taught a lesson at the expense of our country. Personal hard feelings aside, congratulations are in order. Democrats won fair and square. Notice that the vote supression fables disappeared as soon as we saw Dems cruising to victory... Ok ok I'll keep the resentment down.

By Ender
In the wake of the NYTimes releasing classified information and much heralded freedom of the press we now have a whole Political Party directly threatening a private Television Network Channel with pulling their broadcast license and other legislative repercussions for airing a docudrama that dares to accuse a President who for the last 6 years has engaged in the most reprehensible campaign of carefully removing any evidence of complete failure to do anything about the terrorist threat US faced prior to 9/11.

Promoted. Just because - Moe Lane
As I often do, I plunged into the immoral abyss known as DailyKos yesterday only to find this gem written by none other but Moonbat Sheehan herself.
For a while she whines about the incredible hard work it took to set up her new camp in Crawford to continue harrassing the president and how it is no longer receiving as much coverage as before because, gasp the President is a little bit more newsworthy and the media follows him instead of her.
Here comes the rather sick and potentially illegal part:

As I finished watching War and Peace last night, it ended with a very good Tolstoy quote:
The most difficult thing -- but an essential one -- is to love life, to love it even while one suffers. Because life is all. Life is God. And to love life means to love God..
That quote really resonates with me and illustrates one of the most basic differences between most of the Free Western World, especially United States and the insane and anti-life Islamic Fundamentalist regimes and people. Contrast the above quote with Osama bin Laden's famous:

Posted at 9:58am on Aug. 1, 2006 CNN: "Key Republican breaks with Bush on Mideast"
By Ender
From the diaries . . .
Guess who? "Nebraska's Sen. Hagel calls for immediate cease-fire". Giving ammunition to opponents is nothing new for Senator Chuck the Loser Hagel. Here yet again he starts spouting off with the most alarmist language of all the congressmen yet. Apparently he firmly believes that if he is first in starting a cease-fire trend he'll acquire a large amount of bonus "Elder Statesman" points for his presidential ambitions.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Urging President Bush to turn all U.S. efforts toward "ending this madness," a leading Republican senator Monday broke with the Bush administration and called for an immediate cease-fire in the Mideast.
"The sickening slaughter on both sides must end and it must end now," Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel said. "President Bush must call for an immediate cease-fire. This madness must stop."

Posted at 10:31pm on Jul. 25, 2006 Israel bashing continues on liberal Left
By Ender

Here we have a real democratic country, vanguard of Western Civilization in the utterly backwards Middle East, completely despised by (well a very small segment of US population) people who believe themselves to be the moral superbeings and arbiters of the common good, judging us, poor close-minded conservatives and of course judging Israel with the feeding frenzy only possible in a collectivism inspired mob.
Following are exerpts from a hugely recommended (WARNING, go there at an extreme risk to your sanity and values) Dkos diary - Kofi Annan - Israeli attack on UN observers deliberate where opinion runs about 95%+ against Israel. I am surprised the couple of people there still defending Israel are sticking around.
