Al Franken Doesn't Pay Workers Comp -- But He Loves the Working Man (really!)

Not that I’m surprised some shady business has surfaced on Al Franken but I’m always amazed that politicians think something so blatant won’t be uncovered. After raking in some important union endorsements – as any good liberal should – Franken may face hot water with some of them.

Why? Apparently, when he was still living and working in New York, Franken failed to offer workers comp insurance. Public court documents reveal that the State of New York Workers' Compensation Board filed a $25,000 judgment in the Supreme Court of the State of New York against Alan Franken Inc, for the matter.

Being the head hauncho at Alan Franken, Inc., Franken won’t look so good to the Minnesota unions who supported him now. And this isn’t ancient history – the judgment came only a few months after he declared his run for the US Senate in Minnesota.

Records show he failed to provide the workers comp even after being notified several times – and given a final warming. Franken’s personal salary from the company was about $1 million so he wasn't too strapped for cash so what’s up with the deception?

We already knew Franken was no good for Minnesota but this proves it. He’s obviously not out for the people – as this split personality demonstrates. The politician Al Franken is a friend of the working man while the business owner Al Franken is out for his own. Keep digging to keep him out of office.

Ericka, Ericka. You have to stop this whining and complaining. Don't you understand that a certain demographic slice of elite Liberal doesn't believe in paying taxes or worker's compensation -- but are always willing to be "their brother's keeper" in making sure that everyone else does, and that those compensations keep rising? You don't understand nobless oblige, obviously.

I recommend a quick trip to the Obama reeducation camp, where you will learn to not only be your Brother's Keeper, you'll be willing to pay increasing sales taxes in Chicago to make sure that Stroger's best and blightest and keep their government salaries.

After all, isn't that how it works? Don't you want to succeed in life? You'll never succeed unless you get with the program, Ericka.

Of course, Franken also made a good chunk of change from his "Lying Liars" series of books, which was written with the help of a small army of free research assistants while he was a Harvard Fellow. This is called: "Doing it yourself and being a liberal entrepreneur." All of which is why, obviously, Al Franken is a *genius* -- people send their money to him, Al Franken.

Also, sorry for the typos in that comment.

Lots of rich liberals don't pay the things they should pay because they believe that philanthropically and in terms of being "good workers" in the "community" their advocacy and high-mindedness excuses them from actually doing so. They also do good works in other areas, like writing fake memoirs about being a half-white, half American-Indian foot soldier for the Bloods, running drugs and living in South Central, when you're actually a Jewish-American Princess from Sherman Oaks.

But she wasn't an opportunistic liar sitting in a Starbucks. Let's not use the "L" word. She was just "very, very naïve." And that means that when she hits 40 and finally becomes an adult, she'll be on stage with Babs Streisand.

And probably Al Franken as well.

She was just giving a voice to a bunch of people. What a canard that "giving a voice" phrase is. Everyone has a voice, but it takes a liberal to arrogate to themselves the right to speak for others.

Gone 2500 years, still not PC.

Evan Thomas voiced his opinion that "the narrative was perfect, only the facts proved not to fit" or some such gibberish nonsense. Evan's ancestor was Socialist Prez Candidate Norman Thomas, so he must be on some sort of PC SCOTUS erected in the fervid imaginations of the lumpen-intelligentsia churned out by public higher education factories. Along with Ivy & other private institutions staffed by Nomenklatura of the libtard variety.

Wish we could give them all a hemlock smoothie to get their 72 partners-of-choice!

There was no need for the deception. She could have written the book honestly and it still would have been a blockbuster and never would have had to act like a spoiled child at 33 years old. She kept up the deception for quite a long time, according to the article, and there was no reason for it, other than what was going on (or not going on) in her head.

make excellent examples of why you don't want to work for a liberal. The more the liberal talks about the working man, the less you want to work for them.

In Britain, they call them "champagne socialists," and in France it's "la gauche caviar."

Generally wealthy (almost never earned by hard work), romanticized view of the poor (unless minority or white living far away from them (appalachia)), disdain for entrepreneurs, and contempt for the hard-working, law-abiding, patriotic middle class.

NOTE--apparently we have a Democrat (old school), Mario Angelo Procaccino, once a candidate for mayor of NY, to thank for this apt expression "limousine liberal."

and also met her sister who was living in Princeton. Very down to earth, not like the NorthEast Democrat variety of nowadays. I was supposed to meet Mario once, but it didn't happen for reasons I forget.

I always thought that "limousine liberal" was George Wallace's bon mot.

lefties (from the very beginnning) are in favor of "the people" but hate the little people.

Culture, Or What's Left of It" which goes into a lot of detail on how Marx's writings reflected his obsession with the general, and complete disdain for an individual, including the working man. This obsession with collective guilt for merely being a notional member of a class ended up turning Communism into a genocide machine.

Unions will still support him, whether their workers really want to or not.
