By Ericka Andersen

So...ya can't say "nuts" on TV. It's reminding me of that old Nickelodeon show, "You Can't Do That on Television." If you did something you shouldn't on that show, you got slimed. It seems like Wolf Blitzer, Joe Scarborough and others thought they might get slimed if they repeated the words of the REVEREND Jesse Jackson verbatim. If you are out of the loop, this in reference to the comments Jackson made regarding Obama's anatomy (nuts!) when he thought the mic was off. This clip is simple but genius. Well it made me laugh out loud if nothing else:

Posted at 3:06pm on Jun. 9, 2008 Sen. Bond is Angry with Dems on Phase II

By Ericka Andersen

Sen. Kit Bond, Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee has a nice piece up on Human Events today, explaining the Democrat corruption seething form the recent Phase II Intelligence report from the Senate Intelligence Committee but I also caught up with him on a conference call today.

Bond was obviously outraged at how Democrats, who penned most of the report, failed to include any of their “own” when referring to comments made regarding the danger Iraq posed according to intelligence reports released in 2003 and 2004.

Posted at 12:15pm on Jun. 6, 2008 Analyzing the Chicken's Trek Across the Road

By Ericka Andersen

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

BARACK OBAMA:
The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

JOHN MC CAIN:
My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road!

HILLARY CLINTON:
When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.......

Posted at 4:59pm on Jun. 5, 2008 Franken's Jokes about Rape -- One More Reason

By Ericka Andersen

Al Franken just keeps running into trouble. Of course he created it for himself – but if you ever think you might want to be a Senator in the future -- give up the disgusting satire. After facing a barrage of criticism for not paying taxes in several states, Franken is now under fire for a “racy fantasy article” he wrote for Playboy magazine and some quotes where he was “joking about rape while writing a skit for ‘Saturday Night Live,’” according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Minnesota Republicans have gone out of their way to expose Franken’s shady past. Franken’s controversial comedy routines are coming back to haunt him in a big way now. Though he has tried to draw the line between the comedy and politics, the two will not be completely separated when the voters make their choice.

The Star Tribune Article reads:

Posted at 3:16pm on May 29, 2008 Sen. Obama -- Don't Go If You Are Not Coming Home with the Truth

By Ericka Andersen

I’m not sure why it took this long for someone to make a big deal of the fact that Barack Obama has only visited Iraq one time over two years ago. It’s no surprise he has chosen not to meet with Gen. Petraeus, visit our troops or get a personal assessment of the situation on the ground overseas. He knows, from seeing other anti-war politicians like Dick Durbin and Hillary Clinton – that it is impossible to deny the progress and positive change when you are faced with it head on. Those two, among others, admitted the truth – that we have done well.

Posted at 12:31pm on May 29, 2008 Liberal Indoctrination Until Graduation

By Ericka Andersen

The majority of commencement speakers this year at America’s colleges and universities were Democrat and/or liberal. This is no surprise considering the affirmative action laced, diversity infused, socialistic mentality taught in our nation’s higher education facilities. After four years of liberal professors and campus efforts to avoid offending anyone other than the white middle class, a commencement speaker is only the dollop of whip cream on this ice cream sundae of corruption.

Posted at 4:00pm on Apr. 22, 2008 Bill Clinton Lying About What He Said in a Story that Is All Over the Blogosphere. Dude.

By Ericka Andersen

Ahh...shameless, shamless liar is Bill Clinton. Here we have him on the record, all over the news and the blogosphere saying that he thought the Obama campaign played the race card on him after he made the Jesse Jackson comments in South Carolina. It wasn't even that part that made the news -- it was the part where he said "sh*t" when he thought the mic was off. So, not even a big deal really, but he makes it one by lying today.

Posted at 9:49am on Apr. 22, 2008 Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh Too Liberal to be Clinton's VP

By Ericka Andersen

At Human Events, we’ve been publishing a running series, McCain Veepstakes. And that is the question of everyone’s mind for all three candidates. As for Hillary Clinton, few names have been mentioned but a Senator from my own home state has his hand in the draw. Indiana’s Evan Bayh is plugging away to help Clinton win today and gain traction against Barack Obama in the remaining primaries because he wants a chance at the number two spot.

Posted at 4:30pm on Apr. 21, 2008 Tony Snow Going to CNN?

By Ericka Andersen

He's gone to the dark side. Naa, just adding a little voice of reason over there.

I have really enjoyed former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow since I moved to DC two years ago. He seems the most genuine, optimistic person around and it's contagious. I had the opportunity to meet him one fortunate morning at a White House press briefing. His last briefing in fact, and I felt lucky just to be there.

He graciously took a picture with me, flashing that authentic smile. But anyway, here's some info. from CNN press release:

Tony Snow Joins CNN as Political Contributor

Former White House press secretary Tony Snow will join CNN as a conservative commentator beginning today, it was announced by Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S. A well-known and respected observer of politics with a longstanding news background, Snow will contribute to CNN as the network continues to broadcast winning political coverage

.

Politico confirmed it: "It's true," says CNN's political director Sam Feist.

Posted at 10:50am on Apr. 17, 2008 Dear Barack, I Break Up...Love, America

By Ericka Andersen

Barack Obama is like the lover you didn’t know well enough before you married him. He’s like the ex-fiance of a friend of mine – who thought he was “the one.” She called off the wedding a month before eternal commitments were made.

Last night was one more step into the abyss of imperfection for Barack Obama. It began months ago, with the Rezko lies, then progressed with the Rev. Wright fiasco and now Obama’s ties with a terrorist and his spoken disdain for “regular” folks who “cling” to guns and religion.

Posted at 9:55am on Apr. 9, 2008 Is President Carter Going to Happy Hour with Hamas?

By Ericka Andersen

For real? What's up with this guy? As America's arguably worst President, Carter maintained enough destruction. But now, as he's hobbling towards his upper 80s and losing more and more sense along the way (these actions can only assume), he plans to MEET WITH TERRORISTS? Yes, diplomacy is the way to go with shameless, America-hating, murderous jihadists. I'm sure they will ponder the wise words of America's former leader.

Posted at 4:27pm on Apr. 8, 2008 Hey Republicans -- Remember Healthcare?

By Ericka Andersen

John McCain developed a malignant melanoma, the most lethal form of skin cancer in 2000. He knows the fear that binds when faced with a serious medical crisis. And he is serious about reforming the healthcare system in America. His scare with cancer ties in with his recent “Service to America” tour, highlighting McCain’s experiences as fodder for presidential leadership.

Posted at 10:46am on Apr. 1, 2008 Voters Pretty Much Clueless on Immigration Positions

By Ericka Andersen

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) today released a poll showing that most voters are in the dark about our presidential candidates' positions on immigration. This is some what bad news for Republicans because the poll showed McCain supporters are the worst. However, since we no longer have the choice of a candidate with good immigration credentials, it doesn't matter that much as far as the race goes. It does, however, mean we will have to watch McCain closely if he is our next President.

Posted at 9:19am on Mar. 27, 2008 Republicans' Black Sheep -- Chuck Hagel

By Ericka Andersen

Chuck Hagel has always been an odd Republican – a rather blue one you might say. And right now, he’s not willing to endorse the presumed Republican nominee for president, John McCain. McCain is the only option for the right in 2008, and his policies and ideas are vastly different from those of both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Hagel disagrees with John McCain’s approach to Iraq and seems to bank on that reason for his lack of support. This morning on CNN, Hagel told John Roberts he was “not ready to endorse him for president.”

Posted at 11:58am on Mar. 26, 2008 Atlas Shrugging My Way Through

By Ericka Andersen

I've said for several years now that I would read Ayn Rand's classic, "Atlas Shrugged." The intimidating 1,070 pages kept me at bay but I broke down and bought it a few weeks ago. After all, how can I be in this politically charged world 24-7 and not have read such a raved about book? Libertarians sware by it, I hear. So I'm behind the times but I am on page 372 and I am loving it.

I wish I had underlined and dogeared and highlighted thus far but I've been on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale and just hit the pavement of reality this morning so I will rely on memory to explain my fascination absent quotes.
