Section IV: Domestic Issues
Question 14. Do you support a Constitutional Amendment to protect traditional marriage between a man and a woman? No. This is not the job of the Federal Government. This is a state by state issue. As such it should be dealt with there. I refer you back to Amendment X of the Constitution and ask you to get back to the duties of securing and defending our nation. Do I believe, personally, that marriage should be between one man and one woman? Yes, it’s biblical. I’m a Christian. So, God has given me what defines marriage. As such, for me, I will vote as such if given the opportunity. What that means is if politicians begin campaigning on such an issue or it comes up I will side, on this issue, with the people who believe as I do. However, God gave us free will to accept or reject His word. Who am I to deny that freedom for another? If I do, I’m placing myself above God and I cannot do that.

Question 15. Should we stop the Democrat majority from approving only activist judges? Yes. Legislating from the bench is wrong. Interpretation of the Constitution and the law is what is required of a judge, not implementing their opinion of right and wrong. As an example any public official who swears an oath to up hold the Constitution and the laws of the land and then refuses to uphold those laws should be expelled from office summarily. Sanctuary cities are a good example of that. Remove federal funding for any public official who refuses to uphold and enforce constitutionally passed federal laws. Then, only pass necessary laws that support and enable the government to achieve their core duties as outlined in the constitution (there’s that pesky we The People stuff again. Sometimes I think some politicians think government would work great if it weren’t for all those pesky, ignorant people who just don’t get it…).

Question 16. Should we prevent Democrats from raising the Social Security payroll tax? Yes. You have the words ‘raising’ and ‘tax’ in the same sentence. I believe code should be required of all word processing software to cause your system to lock up and crash anytime those two words, or derivatives thereof, are placed in the positive context in any document. In case I haven’t said it enough DO NOT raise or allow to be raised the amount of money the Government takes from me for any reason until such time as you spend less than you take in, have an emergency fund (of cash on hand), and pay off all debt owed by the US Government. Please, I implore you, read Dave Ramsey’s book and implement it.

Question 17. In general, do you support Second Amendment Rights under the Constitution that allow law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms? Yes. As a former Marine I fully agree with the right of private citizens to keep fire arms and weapons. The idea that selling a law abiding citizen a fire-arm creates crime is stupid. Recently the UK was contemplating banning knives as carried by private citizens because they’d seen a rise in knife violence among criminals. Hello, is this on? Take away the knives and you’ll see a rise in baseball bat violence. Take away the bats and you’ll see a rise in rock violence. Take away the rocks and you’ll see a rise in fist violence. Take away the fists and how will anyone sign their welfare check?

Question 18. should we continue fighting for medical liability and tort reform to get rid of junk lawsuits that enrich trial lawyers while hurting innocent citizens? Yes, uh, No. I initially answered yes to this, but in retrospect I am revising my choice to No. If you deal with the activist judges from question 15 this should take care of itself to some degree. Further, the lawsuit is a primary tool for the little guy to be able to deal with the Giant, deep-pocket corporations and businesses. Lawyers should get paid just like anyone else. Judges should do more to throw out frivolous lawsuits and deal with these gigantic punitive awards. Legislate how much can be awarded so it’s no longer like winning the lottery when someone slips and falls in Wally World. If someone one wants to make these kinds of lawsuits a business, make them work for it. Make them have to earn there money in volume, not by scoring that one lucky tragedy to someone living in a trailer.
