Is Obama kidding?! Oh dear God, after Wright, Pfleger, Rezko, et al, after the endless gaffes and ceaseless flip-flopping on Israel, Iran and public financing for the election...after all that, Barack Obama still has the unmitigated gall to pull this stunt?!

Campaign slogan in place of office title - check.
URL to campaign website - check.
Shield of national colors changed to Obama logo - check.
National motto usurped by ridiculous Latin sloganeering - check.
Absolute disrespect for the office of President of the United States and complete mockery of our national legacy - Check and Check.
So, now I sit here at my computer, blood pouring from my eyes, confronted with the reality that we are totally hosed if the Gaffe Master becomes our president. I understand that my tone is outright disrespectful to a presidential candidate, but the h*** with it. He's an abomination, a total farce and is dang-skippy a liberal's wet dream of a candidate. McCain is a complete cluster, but he isn't this bad. Will someone please prove this photo to be a really good Photoshop? Please? Somebody tell me I'm wrong and overreacting. The alternative is a hundred times worse.

but I grow concerned the comparison is neither unfair nor inappropriate. Looking back through the sacrifice of the millions who died to stop Hitler, we sometimes forget that once upon a time leaders in Britain, democratic Italy, and even elected political leaders here in this country looked to Hitler as an example of the way to run government. Certainly Obama's mastery of mass media mirror's Hitler's. The easy way he promises Hope and Change to a group of people who hold themselves to have been unfairly dissed by the man without having a plan to get there. The vile and evil comments he listened to and supported by his membership in a vile and evil church. The bomb throwing anarchists to whom he turned for support when he started his political life. They could all easily have been Hitler's. Obama promises to lead the masses into the utopian land where they will claim their rightful place, just as soon as they put those bitter people who cling to their guns and their religion in their proper place.
It is true he has no blood on his hands, so it may yet be that he is not. But to be unwary of the possibility increases the chance that such events will come to pass.
Hitler and Bin Laden, whatever else they were/are, at least had some stones and some staying power.

When this Social Studies teacher-to-be saw this, my blood ran cold. This is astonishingly insightful. It's really a great symbolic moment. Arrogance, disrespect, hubris, ignorance: your names are Barack Obama. Btw, Flyover, I'd put the odds of Obama v. Jesus at 1 gazillion to 0. This could be turning into some dark movie about how a dictator could be elected president. Only it's all too real. Sometimes I think this man's got more ambition than anyone since Aaron Burr. I can't believe that his staff thought that this was a good idea. Man, Obama is getting more and more narcissistic by the day.
This nation is in every respect is in the worst economic and political shape its been in since I became voter age, 21, in 1967.
Anyone that isn't aware of this must be living in a fairy land dream world that has a silver lining in every cloud.
Unless I'm badly mistaken, and all the indicators are totally wrong this nation is headed on a downturn path similar toward, if not exactly like, a path that led to the Great Depression of the 1930's, which incidentally was maybe the longest depression, but not the first major depression this nation suffered through.
According best information found, beginning in 1930 the U S Census bureau when the 18th census was taken, the "resident" population of the U S A was 123,202,624.
Today, and again according to best information found, the "citizen population," not including illegal aliens, due to the fact U S population considers only U S Citizens and legal resident aliens, is estimated to be between 275,000,000 and 300,000,000 or in 78 years well over "three times" greater in population than 1930 sharing the same land mass of the 48 states then, with exception of the relative small populations of two states Alaska 683,478 and Hawaii approximately 1.3 now added in to the total.
Here is just a bit of comparative information.
At the peak of the Great Depression unemployment reached "nearly" 25% or approximately 20,000,000 working age people, around eighty million, excluding minor children from the total population, were unemployed.
Now today's official unemployment rate published by government is 5.5% of the low estimated 175 million working age population excluding minor children, or approximately 9,625,000 people out of work or OVER HALF the number of working age people unemployed at the peak of the Great Depression.
There exists within this officially reported 5.5% unemployment number of today another problem.
The 5.5% unemployed reported is totally inaccurate, because the 5.5% figure that reflects only those workers currently on unemployment records in each state and drawing benefits, and DOES NOT include, unemployed workers that have exhausted their unemployment and still out of work, recent working age high school and college graduates that can't find jobs. So the total number of unemployed in reality can only be extrapolated and poorly extrapolated at that; but its much much higher than the officially reported 5.5%.
My point among others I intend to present if I'm not kicked out of this blog is this: "No matter who is elected our next president, Obama or McCain, this nation is not going to be saved by either of them pulling a rabbit out of a magic hat."
Even IF democrats and republicans can come together in mutual agreement, which I now doubt will happen within the immediate future, or ever, due to ever widening rifts in our political social fabric, this nation will have a tall mountain to climb in order for restoration resembling anything close to the forty years prior to the year 1990.
"What's in it for me" is causing this nation to follow in the footsteps of other once great, yet greed driven nations dictated in history that rose up like glaring rockets for a time only to fizzle out and fall, never to rise to their fullest potential of fruition again.
But maybe that's what it takes for us humans to realize what we in essence are, basically greedy. If like Thomas Jefferson said, "A little rebellion now and again is good for a nation," then "suffering humiliation now and again and picking ourselves up is equally as valuable a lesson to learn."
Maybe that's why our founding fathers chose the name "The United States of America of We the People," instead of "The DIS-united States of America of Me, Myself, and I," which indeed we are rapidly becoming....but then again what do I know...eh?
