Mitt Romney Takes on Elitist Left-Wing Media (Boston Globe)

If there is any doubt of the “MainStream” Media’s liberal tilt, one must read no further than the pages of the Boston Globe. This clip from YouTube shows an interesting interaction between a Globe scribe and Boston’s local (and only) conservative politician, Republican Governor Mitt Romney.
The Globe’s cross-town rival the Boston Herald picked up on the exchange:
"During a press conference this week about removing some Massachusetts Turnpike tolls, a Boston Globe reporter rambled through an elaborate, jargon-laced soliloquy that was interrupted by Romney when it became clear there was no question in sight.
'Do you have a point of view on this?' Romney joked.
'I represent the people, governor,” the stunned reporter replied.
Romney’s punchline: “No, I represent the people. You represent the media.'"
Pretty bold statement from the biased broadsheet’s correspondent. I don’t recall the “people” of Massachusetts electing the Boston Globe as governor, mayor, alderman or even dogcatcher.
Its always entertaining to see conservatives like Romney put these charlatans in their place. I am glad there is somebody to remind these reporters who they are, and what they really represent.
The media needs the wind taken out of its sails once in awhile.
michaelogic101 - It is very gratifying to see that Governor Mitt Romney possesses a rare quality in most political figures. He was able to quickly disarm this marginally experienced reporter with a superior intellect, and a sense of humor. Governor Romney also apparently recognizes the larcenous attempt by the media to redefine just exactly who represents whom. While it is doubtful this Pulitzer Prize seeking upstart fully realized the magnitude of his defeat, it is further likely he failed to grasp just how effective Governor Romney was at demonstrating an equally superior knowledge of The Constitution of the United States of America. The reporter should at least be given credit for his devotion to utilizing the glaringly obvious dishonest tactics which most in the media find best represents their interests. Perhaps the reporter should seek employment with the ACLU as they seem also to have mysteriously located constitutional interpretations which exist only within their shallow minds.
I'd pay money to see a Romney vs MSM cage-match. What a gem.

in the background or just a staffer? If that's his wife, he has good taste in women.
"There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why... I dream of things that never were and ask why not." George Bernard Shaw
That's Kerry Healy, Romney's Lt. Gov and currently running (behind) for Governor.
However, Romney does have good taste when it comes to choosing his wife, Ann Romney. See Here:

Better looking than Healey, IMO.

an impressive man, one of the few candidates out there so far that I could see myself enthusiastically supporting, if he makes a pledge on good judges.
Now the media is suggesting this clash between Romney and the rambling reporter is a violation of laws forbiding state employees to engage in political activity while on state property, while using state property or while on state time.
Par for the course in Boston these days.

He clearly scares liberals, with good reason. He'd be a great president regardless of his religion, but the Dems will make every effort to use faith as wedge to divide Republicans. They know, however, that they need to take him out before too many people get a chance to see him speak and are impressed.
If they can do this to a Mormon, they can do it to an Evangelical, a Jew or any other religion. Romney is a talented and proven leader. It would be a shame if the country lost his services because of his ancestry and faith.
Right on the mark deadpan227. It's no coincidence that the Boston Globe has gone into high gear the week following the Liberty Sunday event in Boston. The sight of evangelical crowds giving Romney repeated standing ovations must have absolutely freaked liberals (and McCain) out.

It is beyond astounding that this kind of drivel is the best "dirt" the Globe can get. Can you imagine a 2008 race where the dems can't make any personal attacks stick?? Not a happy place for them.

Anyone know who the reporter from the Globe was?

This is hardly a momentous event, but still well worth highlighting. I very much enjoyed seeing Romney popping the baloon of the reporter's inflated view of himself. Thanks for posting this.
