Pardon Libby Only AFTER Media Responds to Subpoenas

The recent revelation that Colin Powell's bosom buddy Richard Armitage was Robert Novak's source for the name of Joe Wilson's CIA wife that got him the Niger WMD gig makes clear even to the MSM that Fitzmas is cancelled and that their will will be no Rove Frog-March. Of course, it was obvious when Patrick Fitzgerald did not indict anyone for "outing" Plame, that she was not a covert agent covered by the Act.
There was never any crime to investigate.
It appears that Fitzgerald knew this very early on, and much earlier than any alleged perjurious conduct by Cheney's right hand man, a true patriot, Scooter Libby.
So, what should President Bush do?
Rush suggested today that Bush go ahead and pardon Libby and Chuckie Schumer now. Clearly, the only ones that committed any crimes were Wilson, Plame and Schumer.
But I think it would be best to let the prosecution go forward for one main reason. Libby's lawyers can subpoena internal documents of the media that will probably show prior knowledge that the White House was not involved in the original leak (which, was not illegal anyway....ho hum) and that the media was in collusion with political hack Joe Wilson and other Democrats in trying to get Rove frog-marched out of the White House.
The media, as in the Judith Miller affair, has bitten off more than it can chew by opening themselves up to court discovery. This can also be carried out in the civil case. Libby should immediately file a counter-claim, since Wilson and Plame may be advised to drop their civil suit.
