Obama, Democrats are Out of the Mainstream Liberal McGovernites

This is a fact, and we best be about pointing this out every chance we get if we want to keep the appeasing socialists out of the White House and kick them out of the majority in Congress in 2008.

(This article was originally posted at The Minority Report but is also partially in response to BBK's Barack Obama Is Not a Black Democrat)

I am working hard to kill The Minority Report so that America can be spared the disastrous consequences of appeasement abroad and failed socialist policies at home.

Killing TMR means killing the Democrats' majorities in the House and Senate and electing a Republican successor to President George W. Bush.

Killing requires the use of blunt instruments.

I speak of the kind that Ronald Reagan used against Carter and Mondale, when he regularly called them weak on defense appeasing liberals and various permutations thereof. He accurately labeled them and backed up the labels by quoting their statements and citing their policies.

President Bush and the DC-GOP have so far refused to engage the Democrats in this way, despite their outrageous behavior that has undermined our war effort. I think their refusal is the main reason I find myself writing for The Minority Report, despite the fact that a majority of Americans reject the out of the mainstream liberal policies of the Democratic Party. The Democrats use blunt instruments to kill us and thus draw the kind of sharp differences from when elections can be won. They lie.

We have blunt instruments available that speak the truth. In fact, to accurately quote a Democrat or accurately cite their voting record is considered the greatest slander by them, so aware are they that their ideas couldn't even win a majority if accurately promoted even in Massachusetts and California (see failed gay marriage proposals).

I have been begging our elected Republicans to call out the Dems for what they are in blunt terms since the first Bushlied cry in late 2003.

Finally, a Republican has stepped up to the plate. Mitt Romney called Hillary "timid" on Iran:

In a speech to a retreat of conservative congressional Republicans, Romney lashed out at Clinton for telling a pro-Israel dinner that a dialogue with countries hostile to Israel - including Iran and Syria - is needed to promote peace in the Middle East.

"At this point, We don't need a listening tour about Iran," Romney told the Republican Study Committee. "Someone who wants to engage Iran displays a troubling timidity toward a terrible threat of a nuclear Iran."

I have been calling for a sharp edged sword to match the level of disgrace of the Democratic Party's reckless and irresponsible behavior on the war since the first Bushlied chirp soon after our troops liberated Iraq.

Why should Americans assume a great deal of difference between the parties on national security when Democrats' unpatriotic speech that emboldens our enemies is shrugged off by our DC-GOP who treat Jackass behavior as bad, but within the bounds of acceptable discourse and policy?

Mitt gets it?

I hope its contagious.

Hillary recently stated that she wanted to take the profits of the oil companies.

As yet, I know of no elected Republican or GOP contender for the 2008 presidential nomination that has called socialism by its name or compared her move to Chavez.

Reagan would have been on the air within 24 hours giving us an econ 101 lesson.

Barack Obama is racing to beat Hillary for the McGovern mantle on the war. His voting record is as far left as any Democrat in the Congress.

Yet, Biden calls him mainstream. In fact Biden calls him the first mainstream Black to seek the Presidency. Yet, one would be hard pressed to find any policy differences between him, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton. In fact, one would be hard pressed to find any Democrats beyond one standard deviation of Ted Kennedy.

Based on voting records and policy statements, (which are what matters), there are ZERO elected mainstream Democrats in DC save maybe Nelson in Nebraska and Lieberman on the war.

Yet, the MSM is hard at work trying to make the lie that Obama is "mainstream" a Known Fact, due to his "tone."

Tone and a quarter will get you the same failed liberal policies that un-tone will.

Tone, good looks and soothing rhetoric count for nothing unless they are employed for the right policies.

Now, let me cite an excerpt from BBK's recent blog that I referred to above;

Conversely, Democrats have John Conyers, Maxine Waters, and Sheila Jackson Lee who are the polar opposites of their GOP counterparts. Though equally smart and capable, the party itself seems to encourage or at least enables their behavior that is characterized by clinging to an institutionalized racist past. As individuals, who have fought this scourge much of their lives, I am sympathetic to their situation. The Democrats as a party however, are not able to set aside the past to build a brighter future. Instead they seem intent on propagating racial divide and eager to make this an issue in all matters for political gain.

IMHO Barack Obama is one of the first Democrats on a national scale to break this mold and to embrace the body politic as himself instead of as a black man. Senator Biden, in what could be considered as a blatant racist statement or at least parapraxis, chose some very poor words to describe Senator Obama’s emergence. I do not believe Senator Biden intended his comment to be offensive; however I do think he meant to say that Barack Obama is “unique” as far as Democrat African-Americans go on the national scene.

I agree with BBK as far as it goes, but given the policies Obama supports are the same as those Waters, Conyers and Lee support, Obama's distinctions as per the "body politic" make him more of a threat, not less. Much as Bill Clinton was.

For decades I watched (and continue to watch those few that remain) Southern democrats talk like Obama 6 months before elections and then vote like Obama for the rest of the time.

Obama's skin color is irrelevant. And so are his demeanor, looks and the above-cited distinctions by BBK, in terms of what Obama does in his present job and future jobs.

When we elect congressmen and presidents, we are not picking a golf partner or neighbor. We are picking people to make laws and/or lead the nation.

Granted, Obama has qualities that could be great assets if he were advancing correct policies. But he's not.

I know too many people that were so enamored of Bill Clinton's personality (at least until the sh*t pot of lies got too thick) that they voted for him like they would choose a TV show to watch. Despite his veto of the partial birth abortion ban bill that many conservative democrats supported, they voted for Bill so they could enjoy watching him lie so beautifully for 4 more years in 1996.

Our DC-GOP and '08 GOP contenders must call them out whether they are nice people or not. Their policies are not nice, and pointing that out in blunt terms will kill their chances to retain the majority.

Killing requires the use of blunt instruments.

There is no blunter of an object than a cold hard FACT! A fact will kill a liberal faster than than a New York cabbie grabbing a tip!

The blunt language of President Ronald Reagan horrified the left. The blunt language of President Reagan threated world peace, in their minds, forcing the world out of its complacency, in confronting the reality of the threats to world peace that the USSR posed.

More blunt language is needed to shock the complacent world to the dangers facing it today!
