Join the "Win the War" Campaign

Last week, I asked RedStaters to join me in a campaign to rally public support for the war. A number of RedStaters and RedState Editors recommended the diary.

Today I am emailing those who expressed interest. Some of you may not have seen the diary, however, and some of you I cannot contact because you are not accepting emails from RedState. Also, I cannot contact more than one person an hour, per RedState rules. So I am advertising the campaign again.
Don't let the country go down to ignominious defeat without fighting for victory.
I know many of you already have given a great deal - in blood, in money, in volunteer work. But the fight is not yet won.
I hope you will join the campaign.
Below is the email I am sending out:
I am contacting you because you responded to or recommended my RedState diary a week ago, asking for help in the campaign to increase public support for winning the Iraq War. Please respond to me at joshlevy@yahoo.com to confirm that you are willing to join the effort.
I am seeking both Members and Captains. Members will commit to giving at least one hour a week to the campaign, and Captains 3-5 hours a week plus one email or article template (which the rest of us can use as a basis for sending emails and submitting articles). I myself intend to give at least 10-20 hours a week.
The campaign will be led primarily through your individual initiative and ideas. I will coordinate the effort and facilitate the sharing of ideas. (I am working on establishing a website to help. If you have expertise in this area, please let me know.) Building on each other’s actions and enthusiasm, we will push on faster to success.
The most important thing you can do is invite your family and friends to join you. You can immediately multiply your influence by five or ten, even if all you do is send an email each week to a handful of political leaders.
I have a number of suggestions for actions we can take, and I am sure you do, too. First, I need to know if you are ready to join. Let me know at joshlevy@yahoo.com as soon as you can - today, if possible.
This week’s political news has made it only more urgent that we act together as soon as possible. Thank you.

P.S. Americans are not naturally inclined to surrender. But when the media preaches failure, the antiwar opposition preaches failure, the administration persists in a losing strategy for nearly four years, and there is no sustained effort to remind Americans why we must fight and win, Americans will lose heart. But when the President has made repeated speeches defending the war, such as after the 2004 election, public support has increased rapidly. We can remind the public why we can and must win, and they will respond.
Email me at joshlevy@yahoo.com when you get a chance. I can't email you from RedState because you're not accepting comments.
Thanks!

Once I have your email, I'll let you know the first week's action plan. You can follow it, or follow your own. Just report back so your successes can be advertised and others can consider executing your ideas.

and bravo for your energy and determination...I just got off the phone with Trip.
Take his advice!

Conservatives (and Presidential Candidates especially) shall offer no aid and comfort to the opposition in times of legislative conflict (and ensuing political campaigns).
there is no umbrella pro-war organization like moveon.org
www.vets4victory.com, www.vetsforfreedom.org, www.moveamericaforward.org, and others like them are not united together.
i will mobilize those i can, and look for opportunities to unite with other groups to form a much larger common group
ideas for doing that are welcome
but there is plenty of work on the ground to be done, too

and will work in accordance with it
thanks again

anyone in the country remember that line? shows you how far the media has gone to keep the public from realizing we have enemies...
so, mikeleader, great to have you. could you email me again? didn't come through. joshlevy@yahoo.com

You may not want them as your prez and vice.
BUT there are no BETTER, MORE CONSISTENT, MORE RATIONAL champions of the Iraqi campaign to be found.
I highly recommend that one of the first letters of this campaign should a "Thank You" to both of them. We have differences but on this, We Are United!
I also recommend taking this "United We Stand" approach with the other political enemy. Yep, the Democrats.
If the constant smearing and labeling as unpatriotic is used against every American with policy differences is continued, well then, this "Win the War" campaign is going to become a very small club.
That said, COUNT ME IN.
that this is a non-partisan campaign to rally support for the war. If we want to achieve over 50% public support for fighting on in Iraq until victory, then we MUST reach out to Democrats and Independents.
In my writing and speaking, I will refer not to the Democrats as the opposition, but to the antiwar crowd. We need Democrats on the side of victory, and it's worth restraining ourselves and making compromises in order to get their partnership.
Glad you're in! Send me an email at joshlevy@yahoo.com (First email to the group will go out this evening.)

Sign me up, send me anything.
I will do anything I can.
But this is two years late, and should have been led from the CinC and WH.
That this is being done, and being done now, is a true example of the rotten leadership of this President in this war.
Yes, we are all too late. I should have formed this group shortly after the 2004 elections, when it became clear that the WH was not going to change its strategy nor speak out in favor of the war for more than a few weeks.
Whether it is too late remains to be seen. It is only too late, however, if we tell ourselves it is too late. If Americans hear a different message, they will respond.
Thanks!

on this subject.
Food for thought/discussion: John Burns' latest NYT article on Iraq contains this sentence, on how long we can sustain the surge in Iraq:
...the Pentagon has told American commanders it can be maintained only until next March, at the latest.
Ok then...if our military thinks it can maintain this surge until March of next year, then why can't those of us on the homefront support the surge until then?
I plan a diary on this later today, unless the Redstate brain trust has a front-page story in the works---in which case I'll simply comment.
