Mississippi finally getting serious about illegal immigration

I was happy to see that Governor Haley Barbour signed into law a new bill that requires businesses to use the Federal E-Verify System to confirm the employment status of potential hires.
Things have become really bad in Mississippi. A friend of mine was eating a late meal at an IHOP in Tupelo one night and was taunted and threatened by a Mexican thug who was sitting nearby at another table. Others have complained of lawn services and furniture companies paying just their Mexican workers in cash when everyone else gets a paycheck. I myself can't go to the local Wal-Mart without feeling like I'm in Guatemala City!
It is so ridiculous to hear business people and the 'Chamber of Commerce' Republican segment make statements like " It's a federal issue and they can't expect businesses to keep up with it" when those sorry jerks know good and well that they are hiring illegals. They should just spare us the excuse.
To me, a business person who says such a thing while hiring illegal aliens and paying them under the table is the same as you paying someone a dollar to piss on the American flag.
It's the same thing because they are both an insult to our country and culture. Nothing like being a pimp and prostituting your nation for the all mighty dollar, huh?
Under this new bill - SB 2988 - business can loose their license in the state for knowingly hiring illegal aliens.
What it going to be fun is to see how many of them (who have been paying people in case because they doubted someone's legal status) get busted and then cry that WE DIDN'T KNOW when that license goes bye-bye.
Way to go, Haley Barbour! Now do us a favor and use some of your clout to get the Voter ID law out of committee where Democrats are trying to kill it.
The federal government has long been doing the work of state and local governments, so the states are more than justified as far as I'm concerned.
To do what ARizona has done as far as putting businesses on notice.
You have to cut the head off the monster in order to affect real change, and going after the businesses is key. They are the ones who have been deliberately thumbing their noses at federal law for the last 20 years just to get cheap labor. Everyone of them that has engaged in the known hiring of illegals (and they all have known. Saying they didn't is a BS excuse) needs to be thrown in jail and fined heavily. Once the rest of these scoundrels sees what breaking immigration law gets them, the rest of them will cut out this practice.
Bottom line, businesses that say they don't know who is illegal and who isn't are liars. If the can't speak a lick of English, look like they've been living in a cardboard box for the last month, smell like tortillas and stale beer and then give you papers that claim they are Bob Smith from Dayton, Ohio, then you KNOW that this person is NOT who they claim to be.
Businesses think they can play stupid and get away with this farce. Not so. People that can see what is happening aren't that stupid. Neither should the government be either.

this is good news but be on guard for the any of the new Presidential candidate's upon winning to usurp the states rights and push amnesty again.
