Let's see, when was I "sold" on RedState and the course the Directors navigate? Oh, yes, when RedState came flat out and endorsed Doctor Paul Broun in his primary challenge:

Posted at 4:18am on May 29, 2008 Five Quals to be McCain's VEEP
By Hammer2008
I've concluded that McCain HQ needs to utilize (if they are not already) the following five benchmarks in helping the honorable Senator select a VEEP:
I. Someone more experienced than BHO on day #1 (easy to do)
II. A Strong conservative on these three (chair) legs: FIScon, DEFcon, SOCcon/CHAcon (CHAracter*)
III. A D.C. "outsider"
IV. Age. Young enough to (a) survive McCain (or spot in for him during medical emergencies/surgeries) and (b) run in 2012 should the GOP base require it.

Posted at 10:43pm on May 28, 2008 Freedom or neo-Marxism (climatology)?
By Hammer2008
Given the choice of Freedom or the "slave-chains" of climatologly demagoguery, I choose Freedom. What pray tell do you choose?
Was it not Braveheart (the movie) who proclaimed "Freedom" in his dying breath? It was also the disputed slave Cinque (in the movie Amistad) that uttered his first heart-felt (*English) words, "Give us Free"...
As El Rushbo highlighted Czech president Vaclav Klaus' debate challenge to socialist AlGore, it is vitally important that we all understand --and utilize-- his central arguement against the climate change (f.k.a. "global warming") mantra: Choose. Choose freedom or the latter. I prefer the former and further proffer that the latter is nothing more than is "neo-Marxism".
Feel-good for the "common good" and damn the people to get us there. Whether it's death, loss of jobs, increase in crime... so long as that "goal" for the State's common good is achieved, the ends justify the means. I have not defended this country for 18 years to let this dog lie without kicking it off the porch.
If certain GOP-types can be called neo-Cons(ervatives), then I too can define the opposition on this front.
These are neo-Marxists folks, plain and simple. It is my belief and they will have to work to prove me wrong, and fail doing so, because (we) are in the "right"... as usual. (sigh)

Posted at 11:01pm on May 26, 2008 The GOP is NOT Doomed: The VEEP saga confirms it
By Hammer2008
One can cast their eyes upon Congress and esp. the House and the votes for/against that pork laden Farm Bill and draw the conclusion that we're all doomed. We are not.
I will gladly take the "100" who voted correctly and call that our new base to work from. Breaking down and building up that base will deliver the House to the GOP in 2012. (*A path to that later; Congressman T. Cole -- call me please)

Posted at 12:03pm on May 16, 2008 527's to the Fore!
By Hammer2008
I've come to the conclusion that until the SCOTUS and/or Congress acts to repeal &/or strictly limit McCain-Feingold, the only way to bring 527's to a crashing hault is for a massive 527 buildup, vis-a-vis Reagan's assault on the Evil Empire.
Out-spend, out-maneuver, out-campaign and beat 'em back at their own stupid game!
Is there a site yet posted with right-leaning 527's and PACS?

Posted at 12:30am on May 16, 2008 The vote against Obama election?
By Hammer2008
So I guess I'm supposed to be satisfied by casting a vote against Obama this November (by casting my vote for McCain).
A few questions:
Would McCain have won the nomination had GOP voters thought Obama and Clinton were "easy pickings" when contrasted against a vocal conservative? It appears (we) settled on McCain because (we) believed (we) needed a moderate republican to take on the Dems. Now McCain has taken the road less traveled... by campaigning in Utopian-speak, as liberals do?

By Hammer2008
BHO is officially your "average male politician". His one-step forward, two-steps back dance regarding the wrong Wright reverend proves it. To wit, it further bolsters my prior contention that he is not just inexperienced, he's sophamoric. BHO has been drinking his own cool aid folks!
I'd hate to say I told (you MSM types) so, but I am. I called this waaaay back on May 18th as I blogged it over at StandStrongAmerica:

The color purple and a little bit of "cream cheesiness" texture is how our babies our born into the world.
The color red is how I feel when I know of the Planned Parenthood modus operendi, elitist and racist actions against our great nation and the $350 billion/year fraud on American taxpayers:

Posted at 10:02am on Apr. 24, 2008 ELECTION ALERT (MS May 13th Runoff): Let Us Not Lose This House Seat!
By Hammer2008
As reported over on Inside Politics and RCP:
"In yet another alarming sign for the GOP's prospects this fall, [on Tuesday] night Democrats came within an inch of stealing one of the most Republican districts in the Deep South," Reid Wilson writes at www.realclearpolitics.com.
"In the special election to replace now-Senator Roger Wicker in Mississippi's 1st Congressional District, Democrat Travis Childers fell just 400 votes short of the 50 percent plus one mark, which would have avoided a runoff and won the seat outright," Mr. Reid said.

By Hammer2008
Well, well, well, it seems Alaska's GOP Rep. Don Young is on the verge of shooting himself in the foot over the latest "Coconut Road" uproar on Capitol Hill. Alaskan Lt. Gov. Parnell now has yet another weapon to challenge Rep. Young over come their Aug. 26th primary.
Sadly, this is an "old story" just coming into the full ethics light:

Posted at 12:46pm on Apr. 6, 2008 "Libertarian" Bob Barr or "Mainstream" John McCain?
By Hammer2008
Well, the conservative dispora may now have a new horse to bet on this November. Sure, a Libertarian Bob Barr candidacy would draw votes from John McCain (I'd bet more than Ron Paul would have). The bigger question is at what point do voters start breaking for Bob Barr and disregard what would be McCain's campaign mantra that "a vote for Barr is a vote for (Barack)"...
Consider John Bender's op-ed piece:

Posted at 2:33am on Mar. 15, 2008 Alaska GOP's "Clean" Clear Consistent Conservative Takeover
By Hammer2008
(Pardon the homage to Fred Thompson's '08 campaign theme)
Draw your attention please to the far off state of Alaska this Saturday and their state GOP convention. The 'old guard' is on the verge of getting the boot by the new guard conservatives. It's all rather refreshing.
Should Governor Palin and Lt. Gov. Parnell pull off the double-whammy of taking down the state GOP chair and ending 18-term U.S. Rep. Don Young's "ethically-challenged" career, all should seriously raise Palin's future stakes beyond being on Sen. McCain's VEEP short-list but to a 2012/2016 GOP presidential contender.

Posted at 2:40am on Jan. 13, 2008 Huckabee's Ideas are "New"
By Hammer2008
in the context of the Republican party. On the surface, Huckabee's ideas have been the 'norm' in the modern-Democratic party. Progressive-lite.
Running from his record as Arkansas governor, he defends only the highlights that makes himself look good in a 30-second soundbite. His 1000+ commutations, etc. are defended by Huckabee's telling how one pardon was for some kid who deserved a break.
Huckabee has re-made himself for the national stage, relying on others' coalitions and others' positions. Rather smart for a politician. FairTax.org and his baptist connections. His immigration plan - LIFTED AND TWEAKED FROM A NATIONAL REVIEW ARTICLE.

By Hammer2008
Everytime the MSM and Gov. Huckabee try to "ignore" the national security issues facing our country, another item comes slapping them in the face. It is the elephant in the room they do not want to discuss. Last was the ramifications of the assassination of B. Bhutto in Pakistan and now the events this weekend.
