OK, my first criticism of the Thompson campaign.......

As many of you know, I have been a strong supporter of a potential Fred Thompson campaign for president. For numerous reasons, I feel that he has the qualities and personality that is needed in a potential president. And I will continue to support Thompson until he proves otherwise. But one issue is of concern to me...

If Fred is to run a credible "populist" campaign, why has he brought Mary Matalin into the campaign ?

In my opinion, Mary Matalin represents everything that is wrong with the establishment wing of the republican party. She is not a true conservative and has a long history of supporting the Rockefellar wing of the party. For example, Matalin was one of GW Bush's biggest supporters of the amnesty for illegals bill back in 2006.

If Fred wants us to take his campaign seriously, he will distance himself from Mary Matalin...and soon.

Jack

So you would rather have who...Pitchfork Pat's sister? Angela Marie (Bay) Buchanan!

Or someone else who "floats" instead of sinks when thrown in the pond...who you can get behind?

None of the Above !

There are many qualified spokesmen or spokeswomen that Fred Thompson could use. But right out of the box he chooses Mary Matalin ? Come on...Matalin is a hack, and not a very good one.

Fred has stated numerous times that he wants to run a different type of campaign this year. If he wants us to take his "populist" campaign seriously he better not put party hacks like Matalin on TV, or else his campaing will be no different than the others.

I'm not an agent, I just write books

Whoops...another moderate...ought to send you off the deep end....LOL

And he can sure tell Fred how to bleed the party.

obligatory Monty Python reference. Well done... :-)

And she's running Tom Tancredo's campaign.

I think it's a good match.

speak for yourself, I like her.

Molon Labe!

And after I saw her tear into her hubby on one of the talk shows, I decided she was one of the smartest, most talented women in the world. If she's behind Fred, I'm glad.

I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful 100 percent.

I doubt she'll dictate policy positions to Fred Thompson.

Whether she's conservative enough for some people -- and I couldn't care less -- her inclusion is a reason to take Thompson's campaign seriously because she can help him get elected.

And leave Carville out of this; Mary is a pro, so I'm certain she will.

I won't leave Carville out of this. I don't trust the Ragin' Cajun not to install keyloggers on his wife's laptop, rifle thru his wife's briefcase, car, email account, cell phone messages, and purse on a daily basis, if he thought it would benefit the Democratic Party and/or hurt whichever Republican was foolish enough to hire his better three-quarters.

Matalin trusts Snakehead, and she should (or else she shouldn't have married the guy). But love is blind; the rest of us should not be -- and that makes Matalin an unnecessary risk.

Unfair? Surely. But sometimes love comes with a price (analogy: a US Citizen who married a Soviet during the Cold War was free to do so -- but would then be considered a security risk, for all of the reasons above; none of which have anything to do with the trustworthiness of the US citizen [or Matalin] -- just the utter UNtrustworthiness of her spouse).
