Posted at 3:21pm on Dec. 6, 2007 Huckabee gets himself some religion on illegal immigration
By jackbenimble
I am not sure if I believe him, but Huckabee seems to be singing a brand new tune on illegal immigration.
Here is his new policy announced today:

This has been an amazing transmogrification from compassion to enforcement zeolot. Only a week ago Huck was calling for a compassionate approach which included a small fine and a path to citizenship.

Posted at 10:21pm on Oct. 27, 2007 Hispanic Terrorism [Oops.]
By jackbenimble
[jackbenimble, I'm going to do you a favor (and I'm NOT yelling at you) and close this: it pretty much got debunked right away. Look at the website URL, man. - Moe Lane]
It seems that MEChA, the Hispanic Students organization which has always had some disgusting racist ideas and has long advocted a separatist movement for the mythical nation of Atzatlan has stepped over the line.

Posted at 2:09pm on Oct. 24, 2007 DREAM Act Fails Cloture Vote
By jackbenimble
I think the Senate is finally catching on to the will of the American people.
The vote was 52-44 which fell 8 votes short of the 60 needed to invoke cloture.
Yahoo!
Up next is the AgJobs amnesty which is a pet project of Senator Wide Stance who just voted for cloture on the DREAM Act. I can't wait until he is gone!

Posted at 3:04pm on Oct. 23, 2007 Finally a first tier Republican who gets it on Immigration (Thompson)
By jackbenimble
I have been very discouraged by the Republican field and have been seriously considering casting a third party punishment vote against the GOP for offering up such a pathetic selection of candidates. But today Fred Thomson became my man in the race because he actually layed out a sensible approach to dealing with the illegal immigration issue. I think he swiped most of it from Tom Tancredo but that is fine with me because Tom has been right on this issue for a long long time.

Posted at 3:10pm on Jun. 7, 2007 Senator Reid stabs Bush in the Back and Twists!
By jackbenimble
And I am enjoying every second of it.
We have just seen one cloture bill on the Immigration Shamnesty go down in defeat and it looks like it could happen again at 5:00PM today.
Reid has claimed to be in favor of the so-called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" but it now seems that he is doing everything possible to kill it. Why is he so insistent on rushing the cloture votes? Many of the Republicans who are voting against cloture including Mitch McConnel, Trent Lott and of course Jon Kyle are on record as supporting the passage of this bill. But they are voting against cloture because Reid won't give them time to fairly consider Republican Amendments. What is Reid's rush? It leaves the strong appearance that Reid is deliberately alienating people who support the bill in order to ensure its defeat.

Posted at 11:27am on Apr. 20, 2007 The Collapse of the Hillary Bogey(wo)man is Bad News for Rudy McRomney
By jackbenimble
The latest polls are revealing some trends that have the Hillary Camp wondering what it will take to make their shrew likeable. I think it is likely an impossible task. The latest Gallup Poll has her favorable ratings collapsing from 58% to 45% and her negatives climbing to an almost insurmountable 52%. Even Dick Morris who long ago proclaimed that Hillary was only beatable by Condi Rice, notes that her popularity in every demographic of her base is falling through the floor, is backing away from his predicitions about her being the Democrat to beat as a result of her attracting new first time, women voters. All and all bad news for Hillary and good news for America.
But it is also bad news for the Republican left.
