Democrat candidates shout approval of Kerry by remaining silent on comments, making him take initiative to cancel appearances

Bob Casey is just the latest. In the campaign appearance cancellation-a-thon, John Kerry once again was forced to take the initiative and make the effort to disassociate 2006 Democrat candidates with his statement regarding the education level and intelligence of America's troops.
The lack of initiative on the part of Bob Casey, Tim Waltz, and every other Democrat candidate that Kerry was scheduled to appear for make clear that, if they had their way, Kerry would be standing by them today and every other day up until the election, and afterward -- because, as their actions (or non-actions) loudly proclaim, they not only support Kerry's comments, but that they share his opinion of the military.
In an election season when national security is still at the forefront of the people's minds, many Democrats have been running as conservatives -- especially on military issues. The lack of reaction by these self-described "pro-military" Democrats has already been extremely telling. As Hugh Hewitt said earlier at the TownHall blog, this story has become "a bonfire throwing a light on every Democrat who says nothing about Kerry's slander." Unfortunately for them, any statements made now by Democrats, such as those made today by Harold Ford and John Tester, are not only too little too late, but will have been prompted not by conviction or belief, but by political necessity as this firestorm continues to grow.
So far it appears that only one candidate has actually taken the initiative in cancelling Kerry's campaign stop on his behalf -- Bruce Braley of Iowa's 1st CD, who called the comments "inappropriate." The silence is deafening from the rest of the Democrat world, as their refusal to comment on the issue -- and their allowing of Kerry's handlers to take the initiative in cancelling his campaigning on their behalf, rather than taking this opportunity to repudiate his comments themselves -- speaks volumes about their own opinion of America's military, as to say nothing is to grant tacit approval to the Senator and his comments.
The best that can be heard from across the aisle to this point? Crickets...and an anonymous Democrat Congressman grousing, "I guess Kerry wasn't content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too" -- a comment whch shows where the Democrats' priorities really are this fall: not with the troops, or with America's security, but on their impending return to the majority -- and on measuring the drapes in preparation for the move to bigger offices, which it is their self-appointed birthright to inhabit.
The silence from across the aisle is deafening -- and every minute that goes by without statements and rebuttals by the Democrat candidates and officeholders across the nation just reinforces even more greatly that which we already knew: That in this case, Senator Kerry speaks for them all.
The desperation with which conservatives are clutching at this Kerry business is sad. At best they will negate some of the damage inflicted by ... well, everything in the last two years that has gone wrong for Republicans. Focus on the positive. I can't believe I haven't heard more about how good the Dow Jones is doing, for example.
It's not desperation at all. It's kind of fun to watch the libs come out and show their loathing of the military in public, then deny that's what they're doing.
The only desperation I've seen is from the Dems and the libs who are trying to bury the Kerry story before it buries them. 8*)
As to issues:
We've been shouting about the "Goldielocks" economy, but all the press gives us is "worries" about the economy.
We've been shouting about increased hourly wages (beating inflation), and yet nothing from the press.
We've been trumpeting the low unemployment rate, and get nothing.
We've been shouting that the tax rate cuts actually increased government tax revenues... nothing.
We've killed or captured a large percentage of Al Queda leadership, yet all we hear is "where's Bin Laden?" (we'll get him).
We've stopped some major terrorist attacks yet all we hear is complaints about the programs that stopped them.

Socialism doesn't work. It looks nice on paper, but it's been tried and it's failed miserably every time (usually accompanied by widespread death and suffering).
Proud member of the V.R.W.C.
. . . had this to say about Sen. Kerry in 2004:
"Kerry's own comments were filled with hyperbolic exaggerations that sought to make egregious acts seem commonplace. During a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing in 1971, he testified that fellow veterans had routinely "raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan." With those words, he defamed a generation of honorable men. No matter how he spins it today, at a minimum, he owes them a full and complete apology."
And now . . . ?

A singular gaffe like the recent John Kerry mispeak might be forgiven if he didn't have such a long and infamous record.
Starting with the absurdity of the "Ghengis Khan" hearings, orchestrated by the then junior Senator from Massachussetts, Ted Kennedy (D-Ma), coupled with the medal pitching prowess he displayed in the seventies, the record of John Kerry's effete, liberal, contempt of this country's military is despicable and long.
How could this man, or his contemporaries who applauded his remarks, dare to pretend to be fit enough to be their Commander in Chief?
As you know I am running for Georgia House District 22 as a Dem and I have heard John Kerry’s remarks over and over. John offered no apology to the Troops or to any of the troops families or to any other people he offended. I back the troops and do not back John Kerry and I am ashamed for his remarks and wonder who else feels he crossed the lines. I will still run for office but as far as I am concerned if the party feels this way then I if elected, I am a public servant not a servant to the party. I in no way endorse John Kerry and do not see him as my leader. I put this on several of our State Blogs minutes after hearing and reading of the comments from Kerry. I called two radio stations today and aired the same comments and I was one of the only ones to do so, I still state after that half *** explanation which was the same lines just in reverse.

we'll be in charge and then you'll be safe. The funding will be cut, the American troops will be demoralized; the American leftists will have control and America's enemies win. Need
