Monitoring terrorist communications: a key to unlocking plots to kill innocent people

The Democrats call this ad a "scare tactic" -- just like they do any reference to Americans who have been murdered by terrorists in the past.
The liquid-explosive plot in Britain this summer -- which involved the detonation of airliners en route to the US -- was uncovered in part because of intelligence services' ability to monitor terrorist communications.
We've just found out that the plot was intended to be far bigger than we ever thought -- which makes the situation depicted in this ad that much more real, and that much more scary.
