The infamous wisdom of the Lefty "journalist" cabal

Oh, and of those pesky politicians, as well.

Says Maureen Dowd:

I feel good about the new war with Iran. How can you not have confidence in the crackerjack team that brought you Operation Iraqi Freedom, which foundered and led to Operation Together Forward, which stumbled and led to Operation Together Forward II, which collapsed and was replaced by The New Way Forward, the Surge now being launched even though nobody's together and everything's going backward?

Like Olbermann, Dowd, in her infamous wisdom, appears to have heard something from the President last Wednesday night that the rest of us didn't, vis à vis a coming war with Iran.

Should there actually be a Persian offensive, though, one can only hope that the sage advice of such strategists as Dowd, Olbermann, Cindy Sheehan, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Hagel (who called the new Iraq strategy "the most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Vietnam"), and so many others will actually be taken beforehand this time, lest the offensive (and subsequent operations) go poorly.

That is, if the President can get them to go (and stay) on record with one opinion - a difficult task indeed, when so many Leftists' compasses, both strategic and moral, seem programmed to point opposite whatever the President decides to say or do, even if it is something for which they had agitated only days before.

...why Darfur would be a trap.

straight from the left's playbook.

Conduct pre-emptive strikes against all hypothetical situations or actions the enlightened have preordained as unacceptable.

However, this strategy failed to stop TheSurge.™

“The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so.” – Ronald Reagan

Do they enjoy being condescended to by the New York Times? Do they enjoy listening to a party which has absolutely no principles and instead picks and chooses their positions based on Maureen Dowd's hallucinations and whichever way the political winds are blowing?

The scary thing after this past election is that I believe a majority of them actually do. It's a horrible way to run the most powerful country in the world, and it will end badly, as our enemies know.

It's the opposite of whatever GWB does. It matters not that they themselves may have suggested just that course of action that same morning - if he does it in the afternoon, they're immediately 100% against it.

Biden especially goes nuts with this one: Bush didn't listen to the generals. Well, actually he listened to some generals. But they were the wrong generals. Bush didn't listen to the general Biden told him to listen to. Now he's listening to his generals, but they're not the right generals.

He was listening, but now he's not listening....or he wasn't listening, but now he should be listening....but he's not! Or, he is listening now, but he didn't listen before. It's too late to listen now!

This theme shows up in every Dem's speechifying and pontificating. It's always just "generals" because these people have no clue what or who they're talking about.

What I find really fascinating, though, is the way listening to generals seems to be the major, if not only, aspect of a President's war leadership. Apparently, making decisions, assigning personnel, allocating resources, reviewing policy, are not important. Apparently, what a President does during wartime is listen to generals. And he will be judged by his general-listening. Our past wars were won or lost by Presidents who listened, or didn't listen, to generals.

If we had a halfway decent press these idiots would be laughed out of town.

for the Shinseki Was Fired lie to resurface.

Folks, these fools are emboldened after Nov 7, 2006. That was a day of shame for those who sat out. You let these clowns win.
