Johnny Singer questions the legitimaticy of the Draft Fred movement in a mydd post here.

The way [Peter] Brown sees it, when former Senate Majority Leader Howard Baker and other super insider Republicans gave Thompson a call to suggest that he should run for the GOP nomination, a draft was created. No. That's almost the exact opposite of a draft movement. When a bunch of party insiders get together and try to dictate their party's nominee, it's no draft, it's a throwback to the era of smoke-filled back rooms where the party leadership once selected their nominee ahead of the convention.

Now I'm not sure when or even if Mr. Baker suggested that Fred should run, but my efforts are publicly documented on redstate.com, Nov.9, 2006
and through a quick whois search here: here. (Johnny... notice the "Created on" date...)

draftfredthompson.com is not affiliated with any candidate or campaign organization.

And why should we care ?

I'm not an agent, I just write books

Oh... Good point. Nevermind.
