By jforFRED
I'm not sure how many of you listen to Mike Gallagher, I just started to late fall 07 and have really enjoyed him. We have another great local show, and of course I listen to all the big names, but sometimes you just need something new. I started to catch on to the fact that his wife was battling cancer and on his website today I came across this below. I'm hoping everyone will say a prayer for Denise Gallagher and their family through this very difficult time.

Posted at 7:52pm on Feb. 8, 2008 Thompson Endorses McCain?
By jforFRED
Never known for being a man of many words, looks like Fred Thompson has finally emerged from his post election lull. I want to be respectful because the rumor remains that his mother is ill and I worship the man, but was hoping to hear this good news sooner. Nevertheless, I've been at ease supporting McCain since Fred dropped out, and now I am completely vindicated.
But what am I missing, I cannot find this information anywhere on the web except... yahoo?

Posted at 6:39pm on Feb. 3, 2008 Thanks to those who protect us this Super Bowl Sunday
By jforFRED
I wanted to take a break from the election 08 babble and encourage everyone who is excited about the opportunity to watch this great sports spectacle, to stop for a moment with friends and family today and thank our troops for the sacrifices, sometimes the ultimate sacrifice they make to keep the United States the greatest nation in the history of the world.
I hit the gym early this morning so I could help my wife with preparing the house and goodies for the game. On my IPOD, the song "I just came back from a war" came on by Darryl Worley. It's one of my favorites, but today a particular line made me stop and think. Towards the end of the song, Darryl sings...

Posted at 6:53pm on Jan. 6, 2008 FredHead Maggie from Indiana- My apologies
By jforFRED
This post is in response to what I felt was a very harsh response to Maggie in Indiana (a fellow proud Fredhead) after she posted an opinion about the media bias against Fred.
Here is the link to that post.

Posted at 1:35pm on Jan. 6, 2008 Fred Thompson earns NH Right to Life Endorsement
By jforFRED
I concede that NH has been rendered meaningless for Fred Thompson, but another rt. to life endorsement is something to be proud of as he heads South where this will mean a bit more to the voters.
As I accurately stated a few days ago, Fred has earned all but one of the state right to life endorsements that have been announced. (Mike Huckabee- Georgia)
I remain impressed by the comments made when he receives such endorsements.

Hello Everyone- Red State has obviously been a Fred Thompson friendly site these past few weeks. I’m very proud to be supporting Fred with every ounce of energy and time I have outside of work.
On Wednesday January 2, we will be performing out last big Phone for Fred day and we need your help. Our California team is attempting to make 3000 calls that day, and we can use all the help, from those in CA or not that we can get.

Posted at 3:34pm on Dec. 28, 2007 Response to request of a Fred ban
By jforFRED
Hello everyone. In response to the post that Fred Thompson post should be banned from Red.State.com today, I felt so strongly about this issue, that I had to start a new post to respond, not out of spite, I’m not like that… but to garner the appropriate responses from Fred fans, and frankly, supporters of all candidates who want to continue to work hard for their candidate of choice.
For those of you who have not read, this is the post I am responding to.

Posted at 4:23pm on Dec. 27, 2007 Republicans can unite behind Fred Thompson
By jforFRED
I wrote about this previously, but thought I would strike up a conversation with Red.State readers today as it is Blogburst for Fred Thompson day. Not only must we now focus on elect ability, but the ability of a candidate to unite the Republican Party. In 2004, 85% of Republicans voted for GW Bush in the general election. This was not exactly a landslide election, so it proves the need for “getting out the vote.” Naturally, one key concern is that the Republican Party seems to be divided into 3 obvious factions, the social conservatives, fiscal conservatives, and foreign policy conservatives. Let’s face it, there certainly are Republicans who will stay home if they don’t appreciate the candidate. I think the mid-term elections showed us that Republicans will gladly avoid voting or even vote in the other directions to be true to their principles.

Posted at 12:07am on Dec. 21, 2007 85% of Republicans needed to win general, Fred can do this
By jforFRED
The amount of discussion about the primary certainly far exceeds that of the general, but justifiably so, playoffs before World Series.
I heard an interesting lecture recently that said Republicans can win in 08 but need a candidate who will unite the party and will bring out the "workers" of the Republican party, the foot soldiers in the general election. Some say that won't be Fred because of organization, but what many don't recognize is that once we have a candidate, if we can all rally behind him, the resources are multiplied enormously. Case in point, we have a local GOP meeting the day after Super Tuesday (or whenever nominee is chosen) to unite everyone to support the candidate.

Posted at 8:23pm on Dec. 16, 2007 Pajamas Media calls Iowa race between Romney and Thompson
By jforFRED
That's right Huckbots, while Brian Pickrell does not rule out a Huckabee win, he claims that the race is really between Fred and Mitt. As a supporter of Mr. Thompson, I'll live with Mitt as well.
According to Pickrell...
I find it hard to believe that Huckabee is actually leading in the polls here in Iowa. Every person I spoke with told me that they’re supporting Romney or Thompson and that everyone they knew or worked with (who are also Republicans) feels the same way. None of them have even considered Huckabee as a serious choice. It could be a fluke in the polling process or it could be a fluke in that I know people who are politically aligned with me and they, in turn, know and talk to others who think the way they do. Or it could be a little of both. I don’t really know for sure.

Posted at 5:56pm on Dec. 14, 2007 Thompson to start “Hands Down” bus tour in Iowa
By jforFRED
Fred Thompson will be starting a 50 Iowa city bus tour called "The Clear Conservative Choice: Hands Down!" bus tour. Bill Lacy Fred's campaign manager likened it to Reagan's unwillingness to kowtow to a liberal moderator in a 1980 NH debate. It is a great parallel and something we have been seeing on the blogs and in the press for the last few days.
The Thompson campaign is seeking 2400 donors in 24 hours to show the media that they are wrong about Fred.

Thompson Criticizes Huckabee on Iran
"For a presidential candidate not to know that or not to keep up with that I think is very surprising," Thompson said. Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor, told reporters earlier this week he was not aware of the National Intelligence Estimate report on Iran.
Thompson named Iran as the country's biggest long-term threat, saying "they've been killing our people for years" through Islamic terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, and would be "willing to sacrifice millions of lives" in challenging the United States.

Posted at 2:45pm on Dec. 7, 2007 Thomson's campaign schedule- Fred is lazy? Don't think so!
By jforFRED
"A review of the two-week period from Nov. 4-17 by Gannett News Service shows Thompson held 28 campaign events, making him No. 2 among the four major GOP candidates. Sen. John McCain of Arizona topped the list at 35. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney held 22 and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 20." - The Tennessean, Nov. 24, 2007.
Keep believing what the MSM tells you everyone. He's out there, and more and more we are hearing that he has the best substance and policy positions of anyone.
