Kucinich questions translation of Ahmadinejad's comments on wiping Israel from the map

Dennis kucinich visited the granite state this week in his bid for the presidency.

When asked about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his past statements indicating his intentions to wipe Israel off the map, Kucinich said that he didn't think Ahmadinejad said that, and questioned the validity of the translation. He went on to say that he doesn't believe Ahmadinejad has said he wants to wipe Israel off the map.

These are the leaders of the Democrat party? I'm scared for our future.

Dennis Kucinich, in addition to (most likely) being a Communist, is also Juan Cole's ventriloquist dummy in the U.S. House of Representatives. Kucinich believes that the corporate-run media in the United States deliberately mistranslates Ahmadinejad in order to cast aspersions on him. In fact, the reason Kucinich can get away with making statements like this is because the media in the U.S. (WaPo, NYTimes, LATimes, etc.) consistently plays down and underreports Ahmadinejad's actual statements.

One of the few news outlets in the U.S. which report him accurately is Fox News, which Dennis Kucinich believes should be wiped off the map. And so it's a little bit of a clever strategy.

In any case, if you leave the United States you'll find that many many other news organizations who are not Juan Cole have accurately translated Ahmadinejad -- including Al Jazeera, which I guess according to Dennis The Red's theory has been similarly bought and sold by the "corporate media." I have a hard time believing that Al Jazeera would be interested in getting Ahmadinejad's words wrong because of their fealty to the West or to Western corporate interests.

But here in America, Kucinich is able to play this game because Fox are one of the few outlets that accurately report him.

But hey, the official editorial policy of the Washington Post is to refer to Hugo Chavez as a "populist" and not a "socialist" or a "communist". So it goes quite a bit deeper than just the soft-pedaling that Mahmoud recieves.

He has said it would be right and just to wipe Israel off the map so many different times, its hard to understand comments like that from Kucinich.

Where are the Democrats that condemn Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? bear in mind, Joe Lieberman is an independent.

Smartest party ?
Reality Based Community ?
A smarter more intelligently waged war ?
We should take a more diplomatic approach to the M.E.
The media has a right wing bias

Take your pick I am sure there are more.
