Joe Schmo's blog

As much as we all want to start in on our Obama attacks, I think we may want to hold off for now. Hillary is a Clinton, so obviously cannot be trusted. The decisive attacks on Obama can wait until after the Democrat's convention here in Denver in August. We'll still have plenty of time after that to take him down.

My reasoning is pretty simple. Understand that a Clinton is involved. She will not concede and she will attempt to posture her way into as powerful a position as she can get, but she will still be "alive" come convention time. The best thing we can do for her is to take Obama down enough that we make the case for superdelegates to change their minds and go with her in order to beat McCain. The Democrats have openly stated that all that matters to them is winning the white house and full majorities in both houses, in my opinion so that they can ram their agenda down our throats and nobody can do anything to stop them.

Posted at 8:52pm on May 12, 2008 Wrightheadedness

By Joe Schmo

Just because I keep reading a friction going on here that I don’t see any need for.

To those that are offended that the Fredheads are relating Conservatism to Fredheadedness, I’d like to give you my view from way out in right field. I think EPU covered this very well in all of his explanations, and I certainly do not speak for him or any other Fredhead, but I’d like for you to see one reason I think you shouldn’t be offended by this.

I have some on going issues with Mustang. It’s not bad, just running a little flat. Nothing drastic but it’s not “on song” like it was a month ago. I got with my electrician to diagnose the problem. I know that sounds weird, but Rocky has been the crew chief on a late model car down here at Colorado National Speedway for the past few years, so he’d know. It’s your own fault if you don’t find these people…

By Joe Schmo

Going on pure speculation, I’m wondering if Iraq will be a non-issue come November, and the elections. There are several indicators that it might be.

First off is the move by the Soros funded ultra left to a admit defeat and change tactics from trying to stop funding and start pulling out troops to fighting against a long term security agreement with Iraq. Even they see we’re winning the battle against Al Qaeda there.

Posted at 1:07pm on Jan. 10, 2008 Fred's "no hand shows" moment

By Joe Schmo

I see the Fred Thompson "no hand shows" moment discussed here quite a bit. The FredHeads point to it as a standing up to the media moment, which it was, and the discussion seems to be over that aspect of it. There's another piece to it that we are not looking at though. I thought I'd get this written up while the discussed moment was still fairly fresh in everyone's memory.

If you remember back, it was a multi-faceted question. Your basic, "do you believe A, and do you believe B?" question. This question immediately hit me as one that has four possible answers, thus making it absurd to ask for a show of hands. In honesty, the only one whose taken a stance that would allow him to raise his hand on it would have been John McCain. The rest of our candidates are somewhere in the middle, and were forced to try to figure a "best answer" to it. You can believe both A and B (which I think McCain honestly does), you can disagree with both A and B, which means you don't raise your hand, or you can believe A and not B, or B and not A, which leaves you with no option to answer with.

By Joe Schmo

From what I've read here, it seems that people sign up and then post a blog within a few days imparting what they believe to be wisdom of the purist form. I guess therefore, I am under the same obligation.

Well, here's my huge first blog.

Merry Christmas to everyone at Redstate.
