Lamar Alexander "GOP Deer in the Headlights"

There are a couple of posts about the reception Lamar Alexander got from his constituents in Middle Tennessee. A first hand account from Bear Creek Ledger:
People clapped after Sherry’s statement. Lamar returned to his agenda of extolling his virtues and self promotion. He told us he’d talk for a few minutes, show his video and then would be there to take questions individually. At that point one of the men erupted talking about the immigration deal made behind closed doors with La Raza. Then things got a bit testy and Darrin from the Putnam County Republican Party also got combative. He basically told the guy this is our party and if you don’t like it leave. Darrin finally settled down a bit and told the audience this is how it’s going to be…..Lamar will speak for a few minutes, then show the video and then he will take individual questions from people. There wasn’t going to be any townhall type forum here. My guess? Lamar can’t take having to answer questions to a large group of people who weren’t of his “sort”! Lamar really doesn’t want to get his hands dirty with the little people, you know, the constituents.

Follow the link, the picture alone is worth it.
Via Insty, the Blue Collar Muse has more on Lamar's unfriendly welcome home:
Most of the callers also made the observation, in one form or another, that Sen. Alexander seemed shaken by the emotion and reaction from those attending. Prior to this morning, all I’ve heard from the Senator, personally (on radio interviews) and via others is that he was undecided or neutral but leaning to supporting the bill. It remains to be seen if he is shaken enough to finally declare his opposition to the bill.

I hope more of our Glorious Senators are getting similar receptions. I'd like to see a report on how many of them actually have gone home and are out meeting their constiuents and how many have gone to Cozumel.
One could logically infer from the comments of Sen. Alexander that he is likely to vote for the Senate amnesty bill.
"The defense of our nation begins with the defense of our borders." - Rep. Tom Tancredo

Good article. Our Senators and Representatives need more of this kind of feedback - and not just on immigration.
We need to be vocal on all other conservatives issues: spending, abortion, special rights for homosexuals, thought-crime legislation.
We need to be vocal, but above all, we need to be polite, respectful and articulate.
If we really want them to listen and change direction, we have to be seen as representing the majority within our party as well as our counties.
Otherwise we will come off as nutjobs.
I'd like to leave that moniker to the Lefties
