Communist microbes from space: Update I thought the first half was bad

Why is it that Hollywood can't make a movie these days without injecting BDS into the plotline ?
If you haven't seen the remake of the Andromeda strain yet, DON'T BOTHER. It's not enough that it's significantly inferior cinema compared to the original. The makers had to go off the walls in injecting their psychosis into the movie.
What does this new upgraded Andromeda have courtesy of Hollyweird ?
We get the White House being bought and controlled by a company with a name that sounds like Haliburton.
Presidential assassination of reporters.
An out of control military who's first response is to use nukes on American soil.
Saddam Hussein being provided with biological weapons by the U.S.
That's just the first half.
In the second half they make Eco terrorists the saviors of humanity. (Just poor souls that have been driven to extremes by greedy corporations raping the planet) I don't even want to go into the fact they couldn't get the science right on this. (The critical ecological resource needed was found in deep drilling projects in Virginia not ocean thermal vents) Embarrassing for people that have shame.
You can just tick off the plot points from the pages of Daily Kos. At every point in the movie the government and the military do all they can to put the world in further jeopardy.
Upshot ? Well a classic Science Fiction concept is ruined for future generations. We have one more example of Hollywood putting politics before both art and profit Finally we have the left proving by their actions that they feel anything is fair game.
I am really not surprised but just why oh why did such an anti military and anti American movie have to be aired on Memorial Day ?
Update: The second half is mind bogglingly worse. I mean we are talking if your brain is functioning you can't watch it. Never mind the idiocy of the science. It's at the why in gods name would anyone do that stage ? I mean it makes that classic "Battle Beneath the Earth" look well thought out. The line "Did you remember the Atomic Bomb" and running away from a nuclear explosion in a golf cart now seem plausible by comparison.
I was a fan of the original myself. I'm trying not to smack myself in the head to much after listening to some of the dialog in this one though.
The original had spot on science a tight script and big ideas. This has I don't know what, Lousy ideas and worse science than can normally be imagined.

Iron Man being crystallized awesome on toast, plus Indiana Jones IV not-sucking, suggested that this one might have slipped under the Radar of Bad.
Oh, well, the new Hulk looks like it'll... not be the last Hulk, at least.
The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!
Why, given how bad the last Hulk was, would someone greenlight essentially the exact same movie now?

I expect it will be light years different from that ... thing, that Ang Lee coughed up and left dripping on the floor.
As long as you're talking movies, I expect Dark Knight will decide that awesome is lame and kick its ass so hard we'll have to come up with a substitute word. I'm voting for meglawesomistic ... otic .. alopololi ... dot com.
Or something like that. It's a process.

I'll just stick with what I have.
The only SCI-FI remake I really liked was The Time Machine. It was as good as the original, imo.
Try tbe HBO movie on the 2000 election.

Just a drug induced stream of consciousness.

reason 1001 why I don't subscribe to hbo anymore
The plot is that a very very very very good man is poised to become President until some very very very bad men in Washington DC take it away from him. He said his wife was fuming but that he was roaring because it was so over the top.
Hollywood has lost it, sadly.
