I'm curious.

If you view Huckabee as the best candidate right now, please respond.
(Attention Huck Detractors: Please NO negative comments here. Thank you.)

Among the 5 other main candidates (Rudy, Mitt, Fred, John, Ron), who would you see as the best (i.e. without Huckabee in the race, who would you be supporting)?

Thanks in advance for your quick replies!

A hundred times over.

If you pushed me for a third choice, Fred.

McCain a close second
Fred a distant third
Mitt
Rudy

Disclaimer: I am a member of a state-wide executive committee that is affiliated with Governor Mike Huckabee's campaign for the GOP presidential nomination

Rudy is the most likable of the remaining candidates after Huck, perhaps most electable, but I will stay home or vote 3rd party as a matter of conviction/conscience before voting for such a social liberal and forever change the dynamics of the GOP, and therefore our country's politics.

(So will many other evangelicals)

Electability, credibility with foreign policy and D.C. weight.

first by a long shot. 2) John Mccain ....then wayyyyy behind him would be 3) Rudy Giuliani...then 4) Fred Thompson....then 5) Mitt Rominoodle:)

I reject your limitation. Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo are on the ballot here in Iowa. They are my second and third choices, respectively. Outside of Huckabee, Hunter, and Tancredo, no one supports the Human Life Amendment and the Marriage Amendment. While it will obviously be difficult to pass those, it will be impossible without a president who supports them. And support for them tells us a lot about their views on the importance of those issues.

Asking just that question to Huck supporters.

The power to tax is the power to destroy.

I thought Huckabee supported--any of the three versions defining life at conception, not the state-law ones. As for me, I'd prefer an amendment banning later-term abortions and turning the early-term back to the states.

Then McCain....and I expect McCain to be ALOT of people's 2nd choices!

McCain should stay in the game as long as possible and let others drop out, ESPECIALLY if he pulls out an early state win in New Hampshire. I think he will pick up plenty of support from fading candidacies.

Huck then Fred after that I have some issues I'd really have to do some searching in my heart about Rudy and Mitt (right now i think I'd give the edge to Rudy, only b/c I really cannot trust Mitt)
