The great liberal election year hoax has begun. After months of pandering to the left in order to get the nomination and frankly showing the true face of leftists liberalism, Barack Obama is following in the foot steps of Bill Clinton.
Liberals realize after the election successes of Bill Clinton that the only way they have even a slim chance of winning a General Election for the Presidency it becomes necessary to make a dramatic shift to a more center of the road platform in a campaign.

Friday marks the 232nd anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of our great Nation. On that summers day in 1776, fifty six American heroes and patriots pledged, " to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor." The very moment they affixed their signature to this now sacred document each of these American heroes became fugitives from the British Crown.

By now just about everyone has heard or at least caught comments about the ridiculous comments made by former General Wesley Clark belittling John McCain's war record especially his duties as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War.
First let me state that this Weasel, Wesley Clark has been using this type of attack ever since he stepped onto the political scene during the 2004 Presidential election. Adding to this the fact that Clark a former military commander using a blatant attack against an opposing political candidate belittling a well documented and heroic war record places this Weasel among the lowest of the low.

With these words Thomas Jefferson embodied the heart of freedom and liberty. As the signers of the Declaration Of Independence placed their very lives on the line for these principles of freedom to gain independence on that summers day in 1776 they gave birth to a new idea. An idea that had never before found its equal or better in a government by man. An idea that encompassed the most basic of human rights but had never before been allowed to flourish in any country.

Facts are facts. No matter how one tries to spin them otherwise the plain and simple fact is that The United States has an oil based economy period. Every aspect of our economy from transportation to food finds a basis in some form or another in oil. Like it or not we need oil to survive as a Nation and whether that oil comes from foreign sources or domestic sources, we have to have oil.
The recent rise in the price of oil and the effects that it has had at the grocery store, the pump, the Airline Industry and even road maintenance proves how dependent we are as a Nation on oil. Here in my State of South Carolina it was announced last week that much needed road improvements that had been slated for this year have been drastically cut because the price to pave a road has risen from $ 70 K per mile to $100 K per mile because of the increase in oil prices.

The year is 1776. The Declaration of Independence had been signed in July but it was now December. Enlistments in the Continental Army were down as many soldiers chose to head home and care for their farms and families. General Washington was diplomatically attempting to encouraging the Continental Congress to supply the Army but that too was not going well.
Support among the Colonists was running about 50% with another estimated 30% still supporting the British Crown while the rest of the Colonists chose to remain neutral. Washington was desperately looking for a victory for two reason. One to bolster support for the Army and the Revolution and to gain much needed supplies for the Army that needing food, ammunition and clothing or the Independence from Britain started by the Declaration might fall victim to a fledgling Army and lack of support from the Colonists.

By the numbers Barack Obama clinched the Democrat nomination following a win in Montana and a surge of Super Delegates who, seeing the hand writing on the wall finally made a commitment. Hillary Clinton won a rather decisive victory in the other Primary State of South Dakota.
After the victory speeches had ended and the day had somewhat calmed, though Obama had the nomination by the numbers, Clinton made no concession speech nor did she acknowledge that Obama had surpassed the magic number. She told supporters that she would be meeting with her advisers over the next few days indicating that she would still be around.

Last week was another stellar week in the history of the Barack Obama 2008 Presidential campaign. First the on going flak concerning his association with the Trinity United Church of Christ and the now infamous video of guest , "preacher, " Father Michael Pfleger.
This was followed by John McCain's comments concerning Obama and the battle in Iraq. It is well known that the Illinois Senator, who has continuously called Iraq a failure and demanding an immediate withdrawal, has not visited the country for more than two years and well before the surge and the success that has followed.

They came from every corner of our nation representing our best and bravest. They fought in places whose names have become familiar to us not because the field had any great significance but because of what they so bravely did there.
Places like Trenton, Valley Forge, Antietam, Gettysburg, Gallipoli, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Porkchop Hill, Inchon, Hamburger Hill, Basra, Kuwait City, Asadabad, Baghdad, Falllujah. Each of these locations and many more where brave Americans gave the lives defending freedom and fighting for liberty in defense of this nation.

Barack Obama is starting to see what it will be like in the Fall if trends continue and he becomes the nominee for the Democrat Party. He has been scrutinized, though not as tough as he will be as the nominee and now his wife is the target of adds and criticism because of statements that she has made while on the campaign trail.
Barack doesn't like it and stated as such calling for the GOP to, " lay off my wife." Well Senator Obama if you can't take the heat then get out of the kitchen. This makes the second time that Obama has publicly complained about the way he is being scrutinized now that he holds the lead for the nomination.

Hillary and Obama are continuing to duke it out for the Democrat nomination which has created an advantage for John McCain going into the final Primary months and especially with the real probability that Hillary, though losing, will remain in the race until the Convention and force a fight that will leave the Democrats further wounded going into the final push for November.
This combined with the skeletons and lack of substance that are weighing heavily in support from likely voters in the General Election for Barack Obama, who most likely will be the Dem nominee, and John McCain is looking good for a November victory. In fact recent polling that covers a State by State break down on the Electoral vote has McCain with more that 310 Electors in a head to head with Obama which is well above the 270 needed to gain the Presidency.

It has now become fairly obvious that Barack Obama will be the nominee for the Democrat Party. I say fairly because Hillary Clinton is still in the race and gives no indication that she is EVER going to pull out. As such with she and Bubba still around and the track record of shenanigans that follows the Clinton's, there is always a possibility that these two con artists can find a way of arm twisting their way to the nomination, especially at the Convention.

Hillary refuses to die away. Obama's inexperience and controversy continues to make headlines. The DNC is in a shambles trying to pick up the pieces while the candidates keep the heat on. Donations are beginning to dry up for candidates down the political line in tough races against strong GOP contenders.
So where in the world is the GOP while Democrats continue to implode ? In a political climate where Republican candidates have an opportunity to dominate headlines in a positive way the GOP is frustratingly quiet. Even in the Congress where Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have taken a second seat to the heat for the Presidential nomination, Republicans who should be forcing issues and bills before a weak Congress are sitting back and doing NOTHING!

Fans of ABC's Monday Night Football, (which is now on ESPN), may remember a former Dallas Cowboys Quarterback who shared the broadcast booth with Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford. His name was , "Dandy, " Don Meredeth and his call to fame on Monday night was a little diddy that he would sing as the final minutes of the game approached and a clear winner was known.
Meredeth would sing out in his country drawl, "turn out the lights the party's over," a verse from an old Willie Nelson song called , " The Party's Over." If Meredeth were a political pundit on Fox News or any other channel last night he would have sung the diddy for Hillary Clinton's campaign for the Democrat nomination.
