Isn't there a saying when someone slips up, there actually telling the truth? You wonder if that's the case with this story http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Vote2008/story?id=5201039&page=1
Look in the first paragraph after the 'Drawing Women Voters' title. It lists John McCain as D-Ariz. One begins to wonder...
Of course, maybe the person was thinking about their dreamworld of no conservatives or republicans while they were working on the story.

Posted at 1:26pm on May 22, 2008 Where would this fall under their definition of Separation of Church and State?
By L John Hamre
I would kindly direct your attention to this story, where James Yee, the former Army muslim chaplain who was investigated for spying at Guantanamo Bay, has been selected as a Washington state delegate to the Democratic Convention as an Obama delegate.
Now, how many times have we heard from the media and our friends across the aisle that churches are not supposed to ‘inject themselves’ into the political process? I wonder what their justification for this scenario would be, if for no other reason than to watch the whirling contortions required.

It seems as if Army Lieutenant (and anti-war cause celebre) Ehren Watada doesn't earn any news attention for his ongoing legal troubles, despite his legal defense scoring a legal victory. But since I saw it in the news this morning, NONE of the major news sites have picked it up. It's almost as if he has ceased to exist in the media's eyes. I'm sure others more astute than I can pick up the significance of this.

Posted at 2:45pm on Jun. 1, 2006 A modest recommendation
By L John Hamre
Once again, members of the press, congress "critters", and even the President are getting into the minutiae of what certain Marines did or did not do in Haditha. The recurring theme for all is, `if something wrong happened, those responsible will be punished'. In response to this, I would like to recommend to these same people that a little perspective is in order.
First and foremost, I will do my best not to provide judgment one way or the other. There's been enough of that already, from the people mentioned above. More importantly, I would ask that anyone who reads this gives this careful and considerate thought to what is presented.

Posted at 1:27pm on May 11, 2006 An article that misses the point
By L John Hamre
This http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2002983848_economy10.html
article by Kevin Hall discusses the `disconnect' between the reality of our economy, and the perception of `most americans'. The article does a good job of reinforcing some standard liberal talking points: the (bad) war in Iraq, evil corporate bosses who hoard the wealth, portrays the administration as `spinning' the numbers for their benefit. However, I think something far more complicated is at the heart of this perception which no one has yet addressed.

"The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits". -- Plutarch
As I watch our congress continue their `forward' march into spending madness, I would offer the above quote for thought, not only for the readers here, but also for those in the halls of power in our capital. (more below the fold)
