Posted at 6:46pm on Apr. 18, 2007 IT'S OFFICIAL: FRED IS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [UPDATE: NO HE IS NOT]

By lafleur2

My friend whose a well placed source very close to Robert Novak is telling me that Fred Thompson has officially decided that he will throwing his hat into the ring, and the official anouncement will come some time next week........

OK so I'm absolutely lying right now.....BUT!

Think about how excited you were when you read that headline. I'll be willing to bet that anyone who clicked over this blog entry was instantly thinking FINALLY! That says something to me and should say something to everybody in the conservative community: Fred is our man right now; this current crop of contenders seems "inferior" in a sense if Fred were to run because we know that Fred is as close to Reagan as anyone else in the race.

Mr. Fred Thompson

To be totally honest I had never heard the name before about 2 or 3 months ago when the rumors speculating him entering into the Republican primary race came out in the news. I heard Laura Ingraham talking about him one morning and I was very interested in what Mr. Thompson was all about.

A couple days later I was in Charleston, SC with my friend enjoying my spring break and on the drive home we heard Fred on the Sean Hannity show and he was discussing his stance on illegal immigration and I was even more impressed with Mr. Thomspon.

Posted at 3:41pm on Apr. 4, 2007 Save Darfur!

By lafleur2

I was in my speech class today and our assignment was to give a persuasive speech about any topic of our choosing. I didn't have anything formally prepared, but still went up with a speech about the reasons not to vote for Hilldog (Hillary Clinton for those who didn't see South Park last week).

My speech went fine and I got a few of my classmates to shake their heads at me because they knew that I was right, but the real fun came the speech right after me. "SAVE DARFUR!!" was the next topic introduced. My classmate went over some of the facts about the genocide in the Sudan and naturally my classmates let out the usual "oh my goodness that is awful what can we do!?". Once my classmate finished her speech, I quickly raised my hand and said, "Now why on earth would we want to stop genocide in the world. I mean, the United States led a mission in Iraq to defeat a genocidal maniac, and now look at what's being said about us. Why would be bother doing that again?"

Posted at 1:19pm on Mar. 26, 2007 I Can't Even Begin To Imagine

By lafleur2

I can't even begin to imagine how those 15 British sailors being held captive by Iran right now are feeling. Iran has no intentions of freeing them and seem to be looking to make an international spectacle out of them. Imagine what it must be like to not know if your own government will be able to get you out. As it stands now, I don't believe the British government will forcefully intervene to free its soldiers.
