New State Auditor in Oklahoma!

Oklahoma's Democrat Governor, Brad Henry, appointed Steve Burrage of Antlers to replace Jeff McMahan as State Auditor.

McMahan, of course, was conviced of being corrupt and a general slimeball.

The calls were for someone good and conservative and corruption free to replace McMahan. The governor has kept Democrats in this post during his time as Governor and, frankly, they bit.

Well, let's look at Steve Burrage.

Donations: He gave $2,300 to John Edwards for President in February of 2007. In August of 2007 he gave Democrat State Senator Boren $2,000.

Well, ok. Not a conservative, but I suppose we couldn't expect that from a Democrat.

According to this page, Steve Burrage's name has been mentioned in connection with upcoming Federal Investigations (Upcoming as of January 26, 2008) for banking irregularities at the Chair First Antlers Bank. I couldn't find anything else about this online, so I don't really take it too seriously, but I also will not ignore it.

Apparently he and his family have been politically connected for a long time and he has been on many banking commissions in the state of Oklahoma.

We'll see what happens.

Henry is just as much of an empty suit as Obama, incapable of any sort of independent thinking or action...

I don't think he could find a Democrat in the state eligible to fill the slot who wasn't under indictment, or about to be indicted... Come on: this is Oklahoma!! There has always been some sort of large-scale state or local government scandal going on since I moved here in the early 1980's...

No place like home! (But I do love it!)

Furious activity is no substitute for understanding.
