By Land of Da Free

Barack Obama had a perfect opportunity to transcend old racial attitudes and practice a new kind of politics with his A More Perfect Union speech. Unfortunately, Obama failed to distance himself from Reverend Wright by disavowing him and his divisive, hate-filled rants. Obama defended Wright’s statements as echoing the attitudes of his generation. He was not as generous to his “typical white” grandmother. Barack stretched to find some moral equivalence in a woman who never asked God to damn America, never said America invented the AIDS virus, never said Roosevelt knew about Pearl Harbor, never blamed 9/11 on America and never preached to thousands and proudly sold her remarks on DVD. While criticizing the grandmother who helped raised him, he defended Reverend Wright as a product of segregation and Jim Crow laws.

Posted at 9:28pm on Mar. 16, 2008 Reverend was the First Person Obama Thanked in his Victory Speech

By Land of Da Free

Barack Obama, his surrogates and willing accomplices in the MSM will continue to try to minimize the role Reverend Jeremiah Wright has played in his political career. The arguments we have heard thus far include: the Reverend is in the process of retiring, Obama did not hear those remarks while sitting in a pew, the remarks did not come to Barack’s attention until he began his run for President. Obama denounced the controversial remarks of Reverend Wright by saying “In other words, he had never been my political advisor; he’s been my pastor.” But to determine the political importance Obama placed on his pastor, look no further than his victory speech in the 2004 campaign for U.S. Senate.

Posted at 6:17pm on Feb. 17, 2008 Welcome to Kosovo: The First Jihadist State in the Heart of Europe

By Land of Da Free

Kosovo made a unilateral declaration of independence (UDI) today with recognition by Great Britain, France, Italy and Germany soon to follow under a plan of Slovenia, which currently holds the presidency of the European Union. Switzerland, Iceland and Norway will follow their lead along with Turkey, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and 56 Islamic nations. However, there is some opposition within the EU itself. Spain, Greece, Romania and Cyprus are opposed to Kosovo’s UDI fearing it will strengthen secessionist movements in their own countries. The strongest opponent to Kosovo independence remains Russia.

By Land of Da Free

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Straw Poll results are in and the results are not good for the presumptive Republican Nominee John McCain. What was the reaction to McCain’s speech at the convention and his attempt to reach out to conservatives? The results show that a large majority of these conservative activists – the people that will go back home, carry the message of the Republican Party and be most active in the upcoming campaign - are opposed to his candidacy.

Posted at 2:01pm on Feb. 4, 2008 Stop McCain.....What's the difference?

By Land of Da Free

I do not believe that in the race to earn 1,191 delegates the candidate with 90 delegates is inevitable and the candidates with 77 delegates and 40 delegates are finished.

I do not buy-in to the narrative that McCain is our only chance to beat the Democrats. I do not believe the polls that say McCain will beat Hillary in November because they are the same polls that said Rudy would beat Hillary in November and he couldn’t even beat Ron Paul. I do not find truth in the argument that McCain would only serve as President for 4 years because nothing in John McCain’s character leads me to believe he will walk away from being commander-in-chief.

Posted at 2:26pm on Jan. 16, 2008 Redefine Conservatism or Defend Conservatism?

By Land of Da Free

Conservatism is under assault. There are those that say our philosophy based on freedom, faith, security and the constitution needs to be redefined. There are those who argue that conservatism needs to adapt in order to align more closely with their own beliefs. We have a more important choice this year than which particular presidential candidate we choose. Our choice is this: will we redefine conservatism to meet the political goals of a few, or will we defend conservatism to meet the needs of our nation?

Posted at 7:26pm on Jan. 5, 2008 McCain’s New Position on Immigration: People Who Say I Supported Amnesty are Liars

By Land of Da Free

Senator John McCain held a jam packed town hall meeting in Petersborough, New Hampshire this morning broadcast live on C-SPAN. McCain’s remarks to the crowd were spirited and well received. He highlighted the success of our brave men and women in Iraq and his early support of General Petraeus’s strategy. A rousing and sustained round of applause greeted the end of his remarks - even bringing a smile to the face of the often crotchety Senator. McCain then opened the floor to questions. To his credit, McCain takes as many questions from the audience as any candidate. Many members of the audience had concerns about his stance on immigration. An American of Indian descent standing in the last row of the balcony had an immigration question for Senator McCain.

Posted at 1:45pm on Dec. 28, 2007 Preview: New Usama Bin Laden Message

By Land of Da Free

An announcement regarding the soon to be released Usama bin Laden message was posted to Islamic internet sites on Thursday.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,318685,00.html

Here is an exclusive preview of that new Usama Bin Laden message:

Greetings. I’m glad this message has reached you well. I wanted to update you on the state of our Jihad against the infidel U.S. Americans. I was getting worried that it would get lost somewhere in the shuffle of the Blogburst for Fred. What is the deal with those Fred Heads? They just submit post after post after post about how Fred is the clear, conservative choice. And they call me an extremist?

Posted at 7:23pm on Dec. 24, 2007 Conservatives will Come Home to Thompson

By Land of Da Free

Fred Thompson got in the race too late. Fred does not have a serious chance of winning. He’s nowhere in the polls. That’s the narrative from the MSM. However, a closer look at the latest Rasmussen polling shows otherwise.

Fred Thompson has the highest favorability ratings among Republicans in Iowa

Fred Thompson is viewed favorably by 77% of likely Iowa Republican Caucus goers according to Rasmussen’s latest Iowa Polling (Dec 19).
