His name was Dr. Joseph Warren, he was the first officer killed in the American Revolution. His name was Lt. Robert Mason Mathias, he was the first American officer killed by German fire on D-Day. His name was Johnny "Mike" Spann, he was the first American killed in action during the campaign in Afghanistan. These brave heroes are just a few of the great many that have died serving this great country. The last Monday of every May is a day when we honor those who died in order that we may have the freedoms we do.

The footage — obtained by the News of the World from security sources — show[s] the shoe-bomb blast tearing a hole through the metal fuselage as if it were tin foil.
It proves that if the attack by Brit Richard Reid on American Airlines Flight 63 from Paris to Miami in 2001 had succeeded, all 197 on board would have died.

...or not.
Between the Kerry banner, the Reid banner, and now this, I think it's obvious the soldiers are listening to what is said back here in the United States.

Posted at 8:28pm on Apr. 6, 2007 The Lone Star State Is "Human" Afterall
By LonestarConservative
Just when we Texans thought our state had it all together...
Our state senate has to go all CAIRmania on us, and thus follows in the footsteps of the Democrats in Congress.
The Texas Senate will open today with its first Islamic prayer, offered by a Dallas imam who has been criticized for participating in a 'tribute to the great Islamic visionary,' Ayatollah Khomeini.

Posted at 3:48pm on Apr. 5, 2007 The Bible As A Textbook...
By LonestarConservative

This is bound to cause a stir:
A Texas legislator wants to require the state's nearly 1,700 public school districts to teach the Bible as a textbook, 'not a worship document.'
The House Public Education Committee was set late Tuesday to consider — but not vote on — a bill by Rep. Warren Chisum, R-Pampa, mandating high schools to offer history and literacy courses on the Old and New Testaments. The courses would be elective.

By LonestarConservative
Iran won - that's it.
I'm glad those soldiers are going home. I'm not glad they were ever held to begin with.
Never mind the lunacy of saying soldiers packed in a raft that looked like it came out of Great Adventure, ever posed a great threat. Iran made them a threat and made the West look impotent.
Iran got everything it wanted.

Posted at 10:02am on Feb. 12, 2007 Anti-War Protest To Be Held At Baylor University
By LonestarConservative
Right of Texas has learned that some students at Baylor University are planning an anti-war "demonstration" that is to be held on campus.
Our old pal Justin Mueller gives us some insight:
A demonstration of sorts is being planned for Baylor campus. Protests aren't allowed, but they can't stop the overwhelming power of chalk and photos of the innocent dead. I will let you know more after I have some pictures when it has taken place.

As I said in my commentary on the State of the Union, I'm not going to come out and say the Left is rooting for the terrorists, because I just don't think it is completely true. However, there are some very disturbing trends:

Posted at 7:31am on Jan. 7, 2007 The MSM Never Stops *UPDATE*
By LonestarConservative
I am sure none of you missed it, but Saddam Hussein was brought to justice this past weekend. In fact, many people might have actually seen it happen due to the cell phone that was "smuggled" in and used to film the execution.
Soon after the release of the film all hell broke loose, and the MSM spin machine was full speed ahead. No longer was the story about a brutal dictator being brought to justice, it was now that someone had +gasp+ filmed the hanging and released it...

Posted at 7:11am on Jan. 5, 2007 The best WashingtonPost article I have read in -- well, ever!
By LonestarConservative
How ironic that Democrats are claiming to be the party of/for the people ("this is the people's congress"), and the "going-to-balance-the-budget-and-not-spend-like-those-horrible-Republicans-did" party, yet they start their "100 hours for the people" off with a $1,000 per head party. This irony did not escape two writers from The Washington Post either. Here are some highlights of the article...
'One hundred hours to make this the most honest and open Congress in history,' House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared at the beginning of a history-making day -- which ended last night with the Democrat from California presiding over a glitzy fundraiser open to anyone with $1,000 for a ticket.
